Raiders | Team signs Griffith

Adam Schefter, of NFL.com, reports the Oakland Raiders have signed free-agent FB Justin Griffith (Falcons). No terms of the deal have been disclosed.

Time to sign Cory Schlesinger, he is a better FB. Yea he is old, but boy can he knock a guy on his butt. Hope we sign him.

Damn he would have been a good FB for us. Now they have him and Dominic Rhodes.

RAIDERS RAMP UP OFFENSE
Adam Schefter of NFL Network reports that the Oakland Raiders reached an agreement with free-agent fullback Justin Griffith. The deal is worth $3.8 million over three years, and it hinges on Griffith passing a physical. Griffith previously played for the Falcons, who signed Ovie Mughelli earlier this month.

yea we really gotta consider signing some guys real soon. there's no other fullback out there who id like...and i dont think there's a fullback in the draft that would fit. Cory probably has a good 2-3 years left in him

Yep the Dolphins show were just talking about him, he can still catch the ball good out of the backfield. 1 or 2 years should be good.

My immediate thought when we hired Cam Cameron was that aquiring a hard nose, knock you on your *** type fullback would be priority...When i looked through the list of guys available Griffith was someone i thought we would land very early...After him there really arent many more FB's that i can see fitting Cam's style...Maybe he is targeting Brian Lenard...

My other initial thought when we inked Cam as our head coach... is that we would be spending alot of our free agency money on the offensive side of the ball not only because Cam is an offensive minded coach, but also to close the talent gap from defense to offense, and use more of draft picks to get some guys who can be understudies to our aging defense...I guess I was completely wrong about that, but I love what the FO is doing and trust that they will make not only the nessiary moves which we as fans get nervous about (like i see on this site with threads that read Porter=Useless), but the FO is making sure they make the right moves, which we as fans tend to overlook...

i dont think Brian Leonard will be a fullback in the NFL...he seems a little too small. i heard he wants to be a tailback.

It seems he is the only FB that is real good left out there. Mughelli first and Griffin second, hpefully we can sign Cory. The guy reminds me of Neal version 2.0. The guy looks like Bob Kuchenberg playing FB.

I dont know about Henderson as much always thought he has been overated, I think I would prefer Schlesinger .
