He's only wearing it in practice right now because you can wear any number you want to in practice. The NFL are gonna have a meeting about the whole number thing and I doubt it will pass.

I must say that it does look werid seeing Bush in a Saints jersey instead of a Jets or Texans jersey.

He pulled his hamstring early today and sat out of afternoon workouts with hope that he can work tomorrow.

just fyi ...

Bush troubled by hamstring during first practice
Sat, 13 May 2006

The Associated Press reports New Orleans Saints RB Reggie Bush (hamstring) was bothered by a strained hamstring throughout his first practice Saturday, May 13. He missed several drills during the morning session while a trainer attempted to loosen up the hamstring before he rejoined practice. It tightened up on him again during the afternoon session and he spent much of the time watching while down on one knee on the field. Head coach Sean Payton was not concerned and said coaches rested him during the afternoon in hopes of him participating more Sunday, May 14.

Sportscenter just had a piece from Saints camp about Bush wanting to wear #5. He says he wants to wear 5 to remind people that we need to protect against category 5 hurricanes :rolleyes2. Sorry but I don't believe him.

EDIT: nevermind, Bush did not say that....a Saints fan did. Sorry.

He did say however that he would donate some of his jersey sale numbers (if it were 5) to hurricane relief efforts. Which is nice.

Yeah, he was going to donate 25%, but what's he going to do if they turn him down? "Screw helping these poor homeless people, I'm pissed because I can't wear number 5".

I didn't know the players got the profits of their jersey sales anyway.

Reggie seems like a good guy

Quote:
After visiting New Orleans, Bush made it clear that any organization that he works with will have to do something to rebuild the city.

He hasn't yet played a single down, but here's what he's brought to New Orleans:

> The New Orleans Police Department is receiving 12 Hummers to replace vehicles lost last August.

> On Monday, Bush will give $100,000 to the Catholic Archdiocese of New Orleans for Holy Trinity Church, which has 267 autistic and handicapped children. "There is no school that can handle them except Holy Trinity, but they were going to be closed," Ornstein said.

The Saints called Bush and asked him if he was interested in helping, so he got Adidas to donate $50,000. The NFL has a matching fund for any Saints players donating to the rebuilding of New Orleans.

> On Wednesday, Bush will pledge another $100,000 to re-sod Tad Gormley Stadium, a football and track facility that was flooded.

"They are going to call it the Reggie Bush Field at Tad (Gormley) Stadium," Ornstein said.

On his trip to New Orleans, Bush visited the Ninth Ward, one of the hardest-hit parts of the city.

"You can't imagine the devastation," he said. "It shows me we are playing more than football. We are going to do our part in rebuilding a great city."

Not me. I agree with Dom that he will not be all hes cracked up to be. I could be wrong but i dont think hell be a dominating back in the NFL. For example i would be very angry if we traded Ronnie for him(not saying it could happen).
