Romo Exposure

The media's infatuation with the Cowboys is becoming ever more apparent as the new Wunderkind has been annointed.. Just today I flipped through a half hour special of "Who is Tony Romo" on NFL Network and an extended piece on all things Romo on ESPN..

They are trying to pump him up as the next Tom Brady.. I will have a hearty laugh when he turns out to be the next Scott Mitchell.

Whether he is the real deal or not, it doesn't really matter. Being the Cowboys QB means extensive ball hugging from ESPN and NFL Network. He's got that job locked down until he sucks *** and they find a new love child.

He hasnt looked good the last two weeks.

All great QB's get figured out, its how they respond to that, that makes them great. So lets see how Romo will respond

There will always be "ball hugging" with good QB's. Hell, I bet before Carson Palmer, the Bengals said the same thing about every other team. Now they kiss Carson Palmer's *** a whole lot, and I bet those fans aren't complaining.

Damn, we just need a franchise QB already. Tired of picking up all these scrubs from other teams.

I'd be tempted to do a Mike Ditka special to get Palmer
We really need a good Qb. Our future QB IMO isnt on the roster right now.

Who is Tony Romo? A quarterback you've never heard of, who didn't date Jessica Simpson, and is going to get his *** handed to him at home in the first round of the playoffs.

Tony Romo isn't a smug jacka$s like Tom Brady is....he is just a small-town Wisconsin boy......The Cowturds got their come-upance last week against the Saints.....I would not be worried about too many NFC teams.

He deserves it. Tell me, who else in the NFC deserves to make the Pro Bowl?

There's Drew Brees, Tony Romo.. and? Has Matt Hassellback played enough games? Is any quarterback in the NFC North any good? Eli Manning? Donovan would be there if healthy, right?

there just aren't too many young good-looking charismatic marketable QB's in the NFL, and if there's one on the cowboys, the media and the NFL is going to be all over him. and rightly so. they just better hope he pans out..

These "feel good" stories happen ALL THE TIME, and they are annoying as hell. There was the Tom Brady thing, and we STILL hear about how he is a 6th round pick blah blah blah. There was the Kurt Warner shelf-stocker to Super Bowl story, there was the whole New Orleans Saint crap last year and this year (no offense to any Katrina victims, but the Saints winning a football game doesn't bring back the people killed in the storm or the buildings wrecked by it). Now Romo is the new media sweetheart.

It sucks and it's annoying, but to be honest I'd rather hear all about Tony Romo then listen to everyone gloat about Tom Brady for the 2836 year in a row.
