that was my biggest knock on him in college..the guy was called the flabinator by many fans as he did nothing to get into football shape even during the season the guy's gut was bigger than his arm. good for the raiders.

When you're compared to Culpepper headed to the draft, you're a bust waiting to happen.

Think about it this way, Quinn would be an Oakland Raider right now had he worked out a contract before the draft. Al Davis had the quarterback's both rated pretty high, but he didn't pass on JeMarcus because he said that he passed on Elway and he didn't want to pass on someone who has an arm like Elway, again. He passed on Leinart the previous year for Michael Huff; a Safety that is now available on the Raiders' tradeblock.

Dude has all these quarterbacks fall on his lap; Leinart, Cutler, Quinn-- and he ended up with the fat one. It's always his luck for this to happen.

That's the results of having this old man running your team. Remember, he doesn't care about overpaying now or the salary cap, because according to his fans, he's dying and he wants to win now.

I heard Jamarcus wants to take Robert Gallery's place at the LT position.

considering Leinhart, and quinn have done nothing in this league yet and niether has Russel your whole arguement is null, atleast cutler has shown ability to lead his team. Russel can still be a QB @ 300 lbs, i don't think weight is so much of an issue, as long as he can still move his feet in the pocket the right weigh i mean way

I wonder what will end up happening with Russell. I believe he can be still a good QB in this league but he has to put some work ethic or hes not going to succeed. He also needs to improve his decision making and accuracy, he certainly has the arm strength.

As for Cutler, I will always feel that he will have the best career out of all the QB's selected that year but there is a lot of time left.

update
Raiders offensive coordinator Greg Knapp told the Contra Costa Times that JaMarcus Russell "is not close to weighing 300 pounds."

"Don't believe what you read on (the Internet)," he added. Knapp claims Russell is between 265 and 275, an "accepted window" for the 6'5 QB. One report said Russell played LSU's 2006 bowl win over Notre Dame at close to 290.
