Sad Sad Day In the NFL Today...

As I watched Brett Farves' press conference, I was just thinking of how blessed I was to see him actualy play at our stadium...its like being able to see Michael Jordan play live. This guy was another Marino and even though I'm a Marino lover, I think Brett was bar far the better qb. The way he played the game is the way it should be played. I feel like we have lost the last of the "great" qb's to ever play. Farve made players, like Marino. Brett is such a class act, I hope some other younger qb looks at Brett and follows in his footsteps and play the game like its your last. Thanks Brett for the memories!!!

Tony Romo has stated several times that he idolizes Brett.

well I hope someone comes along and starts a "new" era of great qb's. I dont think it will be Romo though, hes too much into the "Hollywood" stuff...by the way, DAMN Bretts wife is HOT!

Well, Packer fans are feeling the same way we all felt when Dan hung up his cleats. It's tough losing such a great quarterback like, Favre or Marino.

Brett was BY FAR the better QB huh? wow guess you need to go back and look at some tape my friend. The numbers alone actually indicate that their careers were pretty identical. Brett has a few more wins, but he was able to stay healthy a little longer. ON a yearly basis statistically Marino was the better QB. And the stats don't matter. Just watch them play.... thats when you see the greatness. They were both great. Favre was not FAR BETTER than MArino. If anything Marino may have been slightly better.

I don't think the teams in the packs division think it's a sad day.

BRETT WAS DEFF THE BETTER QB, HE COULD SCRAMBLE FOR ONE AND TWO, HE HAS MARINOS RECORDS AND FOR THREE, MORE PLAYOFFS APPEARENCES AND WINS! FOUR UMMM YOU KNOW THAT SUPERBOWL THING...HE WON ONE AND HAS BEEN THERE MORE THAN MARINO! MARINO WAS THERE ONCE, HIS WHAT SECOND YEAR IN THE NFL AND NEVER MADE IT BACK! MARINO COULDN'T DO IT WITH THE BEST COACH IN HISTORY, FAVRE DID IT WITH A DECENT COACH! UNDERSTAND ME, I LOVE MARINO, BUT DONT BE A HOMER!

The thing about Farve that makes him special is he could be me or you. He just has that appeal as one of the guys wearing his blue jeans going out for a beer and hanging out in his pickup truck with the tailgate open jugging down a cold one.

I would disagree as would most experts. Marino is always in the top 5 talk of QB's, farve is always near the Top 10 when talking QB's

Marino was better, but I'm not taking anything away from Farve by saying that, Farve was one of the greats that I will miss watching play.

Marino

4,967 completions - 8,358 attempts - 61,361 yards - 420 TD's - 252 ints - 86.4 Rating

Farve

5,377 completions - 8,758 attempts - 61,655 yards - 442 TD's - 288 ints - 85.7 Rating

Two of the best GunSlingers the NFL has ever known.

Fave was definitely NOT the better quarterback. Just ask Brett...He's stated multiple times that Marino was a better quarterback. Favre had a better team. How many 1000 yard rushers did Marino have??? How many did Favre have?? Legendary137 doesn't know much about playing quarterback.

It is only Respectful not to scorn your elders. Farve is nothing like Chad Johnson or Keyshawn. He is a very humble, and Great QB none the less. I do agree that Marino was the better QB But it is not by a landslide, they are very similar when it comes to just good old football.

They were both very talented QB's
