what the hell are they doing

is cincy so enthralled with keeping their word they are willing to pass on a offer to better their team just to keep chad there. it seems the washington offer was a way to make them a better team and they wont do it just because they want to prove a point to one player

I don't think it has to do with cincy keeping their word, it has to do with Chad keeping his. Here in ohio this is all we have been hearing about(i live pretty close to cincy). Both the newspapers and local tv news guys have been talking about how Chad knew that when he signed his contract he was supposed to be a building block for cincy, and that cincy was planning on some sort of continuous retooling over most of the term of his contract. Most of the cincy fans however are even more upset that he wants out of a contract that he signed 2 years ago, and still has 4 years left on that contract.

yes. they are being stubborn, plain and simple.

I like it. taking a stand against the loud-mouth player who thinks he can talk his way out of a contract.....I have to smile when I see Marvin Lewis practically daring Chad to not show up.

I would hate it if my team were being that stubborn....but it's not, so I'm glad to see them sticking it to Chad.

I can see their point.

Money, draft picks etc. on one side of the scale, disgruntled, arrogant, annoying prema-donnas on the other side that think the sun rises and sets just because their on the team.

Time to stop the music and the dance with these guys who blackmail and pressure their team into caving into their demands.

If every team just said sit pal, life goes on without you, there would be a lot less of this BS.

Gruden deactivating Keyshawn Johnson comes to mind. If you don't want to be here, cause problems for the team, sit out the year. Johnson got paid and wasn't fined as far as I know. I would like to see contracts drawn up the take the " I'm a locker room cancer" or just general pain in the butt so trade me card out of a players hand.

Fine them, bench them, make it against the rules for other teams to trade for, or bring players to their rosters for , say maybe one season, if the try to force their way out of town with the stuff we are seeing now from Chad in Cincy.

I like Cinci's attitude towards this ordeal, but the bolded part is exactly why I think passing up the Skins offer was silly. I think he'll be gone come June 1.

The team would have been better off getting some picks and transferring that cancerous puss to Washington, but this makes CJ suffer and that makes me happy. Maybe this will deter players from being complete ***holes.
