Wall Street Huge Contributor To Obama Campaign

Do you know which special interest gave more money to the Obama campaign than any other?
If you guessed "trial lawyers" -- well, okay, that's too easy. But can you guess which special interest came in second?
Labor unions? Nope. The Green Lobby? Nope. AARP? Wrong, again. NEA? Nyet.
Give up? Okay, here's the answer: Wall Street.
That's right. According to CNNMoney.com, Wall Street securities and investment firms gave over $35 million to Democratic candidates this election cycle. And the amount they gave to the Obama campaign was nearly five times the amount they gave to McCain.
If you've been wondering why the financial industry is in meltdown -- and taking your 401(k) or investment portfolio down with it -- now you know.
Let's face it: The former frat boys who populate Wall Street today understand economics about as well as the pinko professors whose courses they snored through.
That's why betting their entire industry on "subprime" loans to people with no jobs and no collateral made sense to them -- and why betting the entire U.S. economy on the likes of Obama makes sense to them now.
These jokers don't even know what's in their own self-interest, much less yours. Trusting them with your money is like trusting Bill Clinton to babysit your underage niece.

Change you can believe in. I figured that it would be a little while before Obama showed his true colors. I was wrong. It was right off the bat.

Why does the title of the thread say gave to Obama's campaign and yet the article say gave to the democrats...i.e, i've bolded the item, so how much is given to Obama vs the all the democrats?

Obama is no different than the rest. Anyone who believes he is "change" is a sucker.

What change did you think he was bringing? Personally, I interpreted it as change from the idiotic Bush policies. Thats what I voted for, a change from Bush. I never got the idea that he said change from any politics we've had until now, but I could have misinterpreted it.

On a side note, why is it necessary to insult anyone who voted for Obama? I understand you don't trust him, or even agree with him, but do you really need to call everyone who did names? You normally see behavior like that in elementary school...

Change from the idiotic Bush policies?

More Debt.
More Big Government.
More Deficits.
More Bailouts.
More Inflation.
More Influence from Special Interests and lobbyists.

Not exactly change is it?

If it's ok to call Bush an idiot. Then it's ok for me to call anyone who believes that Obama is change a sucker. If you can call names than so can I. By the way I agree Bush is an idiot.

Hey, heres an idea. Lets wait for him to do something instead of just assuming he is going to do this laundry list you have here. You are honestly criticizing nothing. The man isn't even in office yet, and you're trying to pigeon-hole him into things that he can't even do as of yet.

Secondly, calling Bush an idiot is not the same thing as generalizing millions of Americans under one word just because they voted for someone. Would you rather they voted for McCain? Or would you rather they tossed their vote away on a 3rd party candidate and open the gate for McCain/Palin to step in and win? Which is it? We didn't have the luxery of this superhero candidate that has the answers to everything. We had Obama and McCain. Period. What would have been the correct route..?

No reason to wait when Obama has already said what he will do.

With the bailout bill Obama voted for. Which has now reached trillions of dollars. And Obama's plans for even more bailouts. Plus Obama's plans for a new round of Bush Stimulus checks. Ensures that debt and inflation will rule the day.

Contrary to what you believe. Voting your heart and conscious is not throwing away or wasting your vote. In fact if you don't vote your heart and conscious you have wasted your vote. 2012 or Revolution is our only hope. Because Obama is not change at all. Only the flip side to the same coin. Third party or Indie is the only way to go. Because both parties are failures. And have no concern for our freedom, our future and the Constitution.

In a perfect world, yes we could vote third party. Even you have to admit we don't have that luxery yet. I could be noble and vote for the guy I really want, but until EVERYONE does that, its just tossing my vote away. You can argue that all you want, but its the truth at this point in time. Maybe that'll change eventually, but until then, we are stuck between a rock and a hard place..

Okay, let's do nothing....like we have for the last year until now...this recession started in Dec..2007, we did nothing until Nov 2008, by doing nothing did we stop anything from happening? So what's your suggestion.

Locke, the problem with your assessment is that you think your vote is so important. One vote for Obama counts the same as one vote for McCain or one vote for Nader. An individual vote is more symbolic than anything, so why not vote for who you like the best? Why vote for the lesser of two evils?

As to the thread, I can't believe the lack of logic involved. "Obama is going to handle the economy poorly because large donators handled the economy poorly" is so idiotic that I cannot believe it was suggested. Is Obama's marriage going to fail because divorced people voted for him?
