UT made the right hire with Kiffin. With old man Al Davis out of Kiffin's hair, Lane can run a program the way he wants too. That's why I'm kind of surprised that a lot of the "talking heads" aren't keen on Lane's hire. They do realize that Al Davis won't be the AD at Tennessee? So what if the SEC already has Meyer, Nutt, Miles, Satan, Spurrier, etc? I think Lane will do well at UT, I really do.

I think the issue most of the talking heads have raised is recruiting. Tennessee used to be able to dominate the region and now they have to contend with the likes of Davis, Saban, Grobe etc...

Its a huge task to take on being the head football coach at a major program. Maybe he has what it takes, but its not going to be easy to build Tennessee up to the level that the fans demand.
