Boise State football team number one college team of the past decadeGo Boise State. I am a die hard BSU fan and I am not sure about this article but hell we do enjoy the publicity. We have a good program and being that we are only been in division 1 football for a little over a decade it is impressive just to get mentioned in this group of college football teams. Not sure number one but somewhere in the top 10 is pretty impressive for a wac team that recuits most big schools rejects. Our players come hear with a chip on their shoulders having been rejected by the big schools usually because of size. We bring them in show lock them in the weight room and 2 years later we have a blue chip player.
Boise State (102-24; .809) It's tough for me not to put an asterisk here, as Boise doesn't play in a BCS conference; and up until a few years ago, very few people even knew the school existed. I'll give major kudos to Chris Petersen and Dan Hawkins for the job they've done and did with the Broncos, but if I'm Florida or Florida State who is at 11th and 12th on this list I'm probably wearing a sneer about right now. So what exactly does all of this mean? To me it just shows once again that no one is a world beater year after year. At the end of the day, the game is far more cyclical than we can even remember on a year-to-year basis. As we look over these past records, it's hard to say that someone else can't emerge. What we should also remember is that when we look at the rankings or talk about programs, that it is very hard to find a team that is ALWAYS good. If we expanded this list to the top 25 programs of the last 10 years, schools like Alabama, Penn State and Notre Dame would still not be on the list. This is one that changes regularly and it will be interesting to see where it sits in a few years. — miamimitchdotcom, Bleacher Report Lisa Blumenfeld - Getty Images Idaho Statesman response to Fox's article on number one ranking. Boise State No. 1 football team over last decade? Submitted by Brian Murphy on Tue, 08/12/2008 - 11:31am. This is a joke, right? Boise State has racked up some impressive numbers in the last decade, owning the WAC and capturing the Fiesta Bowl in 2006. Without a doubt, the Broncos have had an amazing decade. But Fox Sports ranks the Broncos as the No. 1 team team in the last decade — ahead of USC and Texas and Oklahoma and Virginia Tech and Ohio State. The ranking is simply a winning percentage ranking. Still, it's tough to see how a team with one top-5 finish in the polls and no national titles (Boise State) is better than a team like USC, which won back-to-back national titles in the last decade. Yes, Boise State's .809 winning percentage is tops. But I can't imagine any Bronco fan would take that winning percentage over Texas' accomplishments in the last decade. And, oh by the way, the Longhorns have a .805 winning percentage in that same time. Come on, Fox. This is plain ridiculous. • Meant to mention this yesterday, but Boise State cornerback Brandyn Thompson was really impressive in the scrimmage. With Orlando Scandrick departing early for the NFL, Thompson is going to play a huge role in the Broncos' defense this year. Seems like he's up for it.

Misleading title. Highest winning precentage of the last decade is more like it.

Bad list. In terms of success, USC should be #1. Miami at 7 is puzzling. They're my favorite team, but they haven't exactly lit it up since 2003.
