wow, that's just outstanding.
I saw the thread 5 minutes before I had to leave home for a trip, tuesday night, and with some glimpses I saw the thread had some great points, but I couldn't read it until today, when I got home!

I'm late here, but I'm one more to say..

Spectacularly written analysis Fineas. I am happy in Culpepper coming here in that its an improvement over Gus. However I'm not convinced we fixed the position. We may have but Culpepper is a risk. You analyzed his career statistics but stats lie. The truth with Culpepper is that he's a question mark going into the 2006 season. The first year he played without Moss and Linehan he stunk up the joint. We can make excuses for him but he was brutal last year. Then add into the mix that his knee was detroyed and he'll probably be easier to bring down in the pocket now. This was one of his strengths before but probably not anymore. Let's remember, when people say he's a top 6 QB, you can make that case only off his 2004 season when he seemed to be coming into his own. 2003 was the start of his getting to be a good QB but if you go before that he was pretty average. Right now we dont know which QB we're going to get. Hopefully we get the 2004 version but we may just as easily get the 2005 version. Bottom line we still need to add a quarterback just to hedge the bet

Added note: Every QB that was available carried risk whether it was Breese's shoulder or the needed development of Ramsey, Schaub or McCown or the obvious risks of drafting one, so the fact we rolled the dice is not a complaint by me. I just want to address this position in the draft just to be safe

Great Post! I think that C-Pep will do fine in the "Miami Offense" aka Scott's miracle worker offense. We don't have Randy but we have Pro-Bowl WR Chris Chambers and that folks is good enough for me. Also with McMike about to explode this year we are in for a very balanced attack. I want the season to start the season now. But great post you the man.

Tampa
Chicago
Atlanta
and Cinci
hmmm those were some pretty impressive defenses last year ... just ask the QB's that played against them ... I bet there arent many that had great #'s against them ... his 2 wins were against GB and NO ... admittedly not even really good defenses but his QB rates were 110 and 123 against them ..
