For this whole time of being cast off as a bad speller and post-hater I've just been trying to say that this analysis, while in-depth, sound mathmatically, and showing of great dedication, doesn't prove much. Feeley throws it faster. I don't need to look at my DVR for a half and hour to know that, and I don't need to relive my calculus class days with vector theories.

Not only does Feeley have this going for him but he stays in the pocket longer which gives him an extra second to find an open receiver. He's more accurate on long throws, etc. The only things Jay has going for him is a winning record(not playoffs), he's smart, which makes him a good practice player, and he's DW's boy.
Well, I obviously disagree. I think that it's not as obvious to the naked eye as you state, especially when watching a game. Fiedler's throws actually have decent velocity within a 20 yards range, and when he throws that pass, everything looks great. Everything, but the fact that it is always so close to being intercepted. It could have been the way he locks on the Wr, or it could be how far he brings his arm back. There are a lot of things that a Qb could do wrong.

I think that Fiedler is a lot better than you give him credit for! For instance, if Fielder becomes the back up, it has been said, that Miami would then have one of, if not the best back up in the league. He's surely a lot better than just a good practice player.

As for the miss spells, I did not try and correct you on it, I just thought it was funny. I'm a terrible sppeler....

Fiedler would make a great backup if he could get his mindset where it needs to be.

Yeah, I don't think it is as easy to see with the naked eye either. I think a lot of people in some cases see what they WANT to see. They hear Feeley might have a better arm and immediately they see what they want to see.

Personally if I had to compare his arm to anyones it might be Bulger. I still think probably most starters in the league might have better velocity on their passes than AJ Feeley does...or at least the ones that are considered bonafied starting QBs do.

But I do think that Feeley's got a big enough arm to get it done....like Bulger and Brady.

Everybody has got this thing right. Jay Fiedler and AJ Feeley are both some of the best back-ups in the league. Fiedler can't elevate over that as we've seen. Hopefully, no matter how fast he throws, Feeley will get the chance to see if he can be better.

He was a back-up in college and in the pros. Fiedlers had his shot. Give AJ Feeley his.

This was a great post....But...did we really need such an in depth analysis to determine that Feeley has a better arm than Fiedler?

BTW...this post should be in Finheavens Finest.

great analysis, and your math seems pretty sound. Appreciate the effort CK, but do you have a job? or just lots of free time? JK. proves what we suspected all along.

Hey very neat work there buddy, I was really impressed by it. The thing that impressed me the most was you remembering pythagorean theorem. I think I forgot that stuff shortly after I discovered beer.:beerbang:

I appreciate the effort CK.

IMO I think Feeley has a very strong arm. Stronger than Bulger's even.
At times, it seems as if the WRs just don't expect the ball to get there so quickly.
Reminds me of when WRs always had to adjust for Marino when the came to Miami.

The throw where AJ was nailed wasn't even a tight spiral but it was VERY accurate. Awesome throw there.

Hold on here. I thought that the big knock on Bulger was that he had a weak arm. Eh, maybe it is like this link puts it: these "expert" analysts have no freaking idea sometimes. Maybe we'd all be better off if we stopped listening to them...

[QUOTE=ckparrothead]Thanks to all you guys who support the thread.

Interesting that you guys mention that I need a girlfriend. The reason I was up late at night is because my girlfriend attends UF and every summer I get accustomed to her being with me every night. She just left back for school last week and came down this weekend, and as corny as this sounds, after she leaves I still have trouble sleeping after she leaves to go back up to school because she's not there with me going to sleep too. Sorry.

What else can I do late at night, not able to sleep, with a DVR handy that has the Phins-Bucs game recorded on it?

Do what a Friend of mine [yeah thats it] would do and take a pillow spray a little of her perfume on it and spoon it. YOU CAN DO IT ALL NIGHT LONNG!!
