For the impatient ones...

I just want to bring up something, in hopes that maybe all the people who freaked out at the start of FA have learned something.

Patience is a virtue.

Does everyone remember last season when the Ricky trade talk was driving everyone nuts? Then it finally happened, and we had the leagues number one rusher in 2002.

This year we have Spielman, and Wannstedt telling us they aren't going to go after high priced FA's, and they didn't. But as Colvin, and Spikes, Boston, Gandy, and Hilliard, all dropped off our radar screen a lot of people here freaked.

Now through a patient yet steady approach, the Phins have signed WR Derrius Thompson, put Rob Konrad back in the mix, landed Jr. Seau, and added a DT in Jeff Zgonina. It also appears were going to have Haley, Freeman AND Wooden back as well.

Now we can trade Rodgers, and pick up an extra draft pick, and maybe package some picks to move up in the draft.

Griese is still a possiblity, and that would solidify our back-up QB spot.

My point is (and granted this is mostly for our younger fans...but some of you older guys need to hear it too) it's not always the big name guys who get signed right off the bat that make the most difference in a teams success. Sometimes it's the Lamar Smiths, and Jamie Nails of the world who make the biggest impact (literally in Nails case).

I like the direction this team has taken, and the off-season aint even over yet. So let's learn a lesson here for next year. Of course then I am sure we will have a whole new crop of youngsters freaking out.

P.S. Look for my next lesson during pre-season when everyone is losing it cause Fiedler, Williams, and Chambers aren't doing anything...and a bunch of second stringers are lighting the world on fire.
