Man reading that brought a tear to my eye, still does. There is nothing worse than the suffering of a child. Being a parent, forget that he was a HOF qb, and knowing you are helpless to do anything about your childs illness would have to be teh most empty feeling a parent can have. I thank god my
son is healthy and pray it stays that way. Jim Kelly is a class act, a good human being and a loving father. I pray that he finds solace in teh knowledge that he will one day be reunited with Hunter and it will be for eternity with no sickness or pain.

"He'll never be able to do what daddy did," Kelly said last year. "But he's going to do greater things. He's going to make a difference in kids' lives. He already has."

My prayers go out to the Kelly family, God bless, RIP hunter

Born in 1997, Hunter Kelly was given no more than three years to live after being diagnosed with Krabbe Disease, an inherited degenerative disorder of the central and peripheral nervous systems. The disease hinders development of the myelin sheath, a fatty covering that protects the brain's nerve fibers.

In honor of their son, Jim Kelly and his wife, Jill, established the Hunter's Hope Foundation in 1997, which has raised more than $6 million and awarded more than $3.8 million to leukodystrophy and other neurological disease-related research.

This really is a sad day. I hope that Jim's family's effort goes a long way toward finding a cure for this disease. Jim is a class act and if more people were like him we'd have a much better world. My thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family and to anyone who has a child that's ill. I can't imagine going through that. Breaks my heart, truely.

Even though Hunter lived a short life, I'm sure his impact will be felt for generations to come. RIP.

Jim Kelly is one of the guys that I have the most respect for. He was a true warrior on the field and I'm sure one of the good guys off the field. God Bless him and his family during this time. Hunter is in a better place now.

My Heart and Prayers go out to Jim and his family, as heartbreaking as this is, I bet rather then being sad Jim is looking at is as he is very grateful that he had 8 years with his son, when he wasn't given any chance to make it past a few years.

Hunter was truly a fighter like his father.

My son Tristan just turned one last week. He is my first. I never knew I was capable of loving someone so much..as I love my son. My heart hurts for Jim Kelly and his family. Losing a son is something a parent should never have to experience. My only wish is that somehow....Jim Kelly could read these posts and see that parents everywhere are hurting for him right now.

You family lost a special member Bills fans.

My condolences to the Kelly's, it is always tragic when parents have to bury their children. Hunter is in a better place, may he rest in peace.

His Hall of fame speech was tear jerking and inspirtational at the same time. I have a lot of respect for Jim Kelly as a person and I saddened by his loss. My thoughts go out to him and hope Hunter has inspired and helped a generation of kids.
