Coupling on DVD

I guess that the fact nobody knows of it means that NBC really did bomb with the (horrible) remake last year.

Season (Series) 3 should be out on DVD soon.

Yes, I have in fact seen it. It's a decent show. I'm really more excited about getting time to watch The Office on DVD some time soon than I am about Coupling, though.

Thank you sir. I appreciate it. I've never heard of "The Office," but I'm gonna give it a shot.

I'll warn you that The Office is a rather unconventional and twisted workplace comedy. If you think of Coupling as being great just because it's a funnier and sexier Friends, it may not work out for you. I find that I never know until I try a comedy, though.

I hope you enjoy Dick Darlington and Gizelle the French *****.

If you were JOHN STAMOS I would smack some sense into you for divorcing Rebecca Romjin, and then I would smack you again just because you got to have sex with Rebecca Romjin and your greatest achievement is playing a narcissistic metrosexual biker who for no apparent reason lived in his brother's basement.

I've noticed that, along with Buffalo too. I think it's rebellion against growing up around a crappy, losing sports franchise.

Another Attorney. Been practicing for seven months. Been a Fin Fan since I was three. I think I liked the Dolphin, as well as their colors. Now I am a die hard fan. By the way, good luck to J.J. and Infiltrateb on your Law School education and the Bar. IT SUCKS.

Definitely SUCKS. Worst examination I've ever taken in my life, by far. 3.5 days of it in Mississippi.

BTW, the practice of law, in private practice anyway with a larger defense firm, is VERY, VERY hard for the first several years. Typical hours during my first 6 years or so were 60-70 per week, maybe 5 days off a year (no vacations), weekend work was typical ... It DOES get better though, eventually. I still really don't take vacations (last one was in 99), but I make up for it by taking days off when I feel like, extended holidays and the like. Seldom put in more than 40 hours per week nowadays either (only when getting ready for a trial, and most settle anyway).

FinHeaven is 38% attorneys, 24% psychologists, 22% Comp/IT, 14% retail/management, 2% claim to be strippers

TheGangGreen had a similar thread, and it turns out: 37% waste management, 21% waste disposal, 12% mob affiliations, 10% "knee breakers," 12% professional whiners, and 8% "completely delusional."

BillsZone also had the same thread, but no one in the Buffalo school system could figure out how to reply.

Yeah, I'm probably going the route of the large corporate firm, maybe Alston & Bird (Atlanta), Fish & Richardson (MA), or something else in San Diego/Seattle/DC/Atlanta/Miami. Not really sure. Probably corporate litigation.

Good to hear there is light at the end of the tunnel. I'm killing myself, but always have time to check on Fin news. I started my own practice. Its tough.

The only good thing about the Virginia exam is the extremely high pass rate. I think it's something like 89% statewide and 93% at my school. I have a couple of friends out in California who have taken the exam twice and failed. I think they told me that the pass rate for one of the times they took it was 17%.

Agua: you just described exactly why I am exploring alternatives to firm work. If I practice, I'd love to do it on the government's dime. I'm also open to doing some of the JD-preferred but not for practice reasons things that are available out in the business world. I don't really know that I'll be thrilled about billing 2000-3000 hours my first few years to earn my keep, particularly at a large firm where only maybe 10% make partner.

If you want something EASY that pays well, look into going to a graduate tax program. We've got a couple estate planning guys here. "Golden boys". They never had to put in the work we litigation grunts did, and they advanced quicker than any of us as well because of the $ they brought in (higher rate).
