What kind of jobs do we have as Dolfans? What made us get into loving this team?

It's the offseason. I've been posting on here for over a year so far. I posted when my grandmother died (she loved the Phins). I posted when I got engaged (she loves the Phins too). I thought it would be cool for us all to share what we do job wise and what got us into loving the Phins so much.

I'm the GM of a Hotel. I got into watching the Phins when I got a dolphins bike for X-mas when I was 5. My dad was a buddy of Bob Griese so he actually had him come over the day after Christmas and help me open the Bike. I like the Phins so much I actually bought a brand new mustang GT convertible which is actually Phins orange (they call it Competition Orange) It matches the color of the Phins License plate exactly.
Key additions for the upcoming season: Personalized authentic Jersey ordered off NFL.com. Dolphins contact lenses. Why don't they make Dolphins drinking helmets?

Your turn!

I'm an IT manager for a medium sized consulting firm in Wixom, Michigan. I moved here about 5 years ago after meeting my wife. I grew up in Virginia Beach, VA... and I'm not quite sure what made me like the Dolphins so much. I've liked them since I was about 5 (I'm 22 now ). As far back as I can remeber, I liked them. It's rather odd too, seeing as neither my dad nor brother like sports or even watched them when I was growing up. I can remember being able to name most of the starting lineup at the age of about 6, despite never having seen a football game. I didn't actually start watching football till I was 11 or 12... yet I'd already been a fan for 6 or 7 years. The only conclusion I can reach.... Destiny

I own a computer firm in MN, we manufacture Thin Clients in Taiwan, which lets me travel a lot which is fun, i try to see some games. Not being from the US I only got into American Football in Jan 84 when I was 16. My neighbours put up one of those huge Metal Satellite Dishes and we could get the US feeds. My 1st game was SB , SF vs MIA. I naturally supported Mia as that is pretty much the nearest city to us in the Caribbean and I was hooked. I have been a staunch fan ever since even up here in Purple People Eaters land. Looking forward to this season to see how all of our additions blend together.

My mom's whole family is from SW Minn. I was up there for Xmas two years ago. We actually stayed at The Grand Hotel In Minneapolis right across from where the Phins stayed (They were there playing the Vikes) I knew Doug Blevins (former kicking coach) so he got me in there so I could shake hands with Zach, JT, and Ricky. I drove to my grand parents farm and talked sh!t the whole time. Then I got to sit there with 35 viking fan relatives and watch Randy Moss (a WR) throw the winning touchdown for the Vikes. I ate so much sh!t that day I'm still full. I still root for the Vikes (kinda) they're my NFC team.

Lawyer practicing for 11 years now in a firm of ~25 attorneys.

Got into the Phins when my Dad called me into the living room during 3Q of the Phins / Chiefs game in '71 saying "come in here bub and watch this, it's a good game". I was just starting to get into football at that age and my interest in football was spurred additionally by the fact that our high school team was "lights out" at that time. Also been fortunate that every place I've lived carried Dolphins games as the regular team during the time I lived there. So I imagine there are less than 15-20 Dolphin games I've been unable to watch since that playoff game in 71.

hahaha.... go look in the "Flipper's Finest" portion of the website at a thread with a HUGE number of posts in it. Short story, ArMUNDO was caught in multiple lies celebrating a Dolphin loss knocking them out of the playoffs.

I don't know why I like the dolphins. I guess it's because when I first got into football about 10 years ago, my home team (the bengals) sucked. I think It had something to do with Dan Marino being in Ace Ventura Anyway... I'm actually a Rock Star but no one knows it yet.

I'm an attorney working for a legal publishing company. I also teach business law at a local community college and do some freelance writing. (The luxuries of being a lawyer with a 40 hour week.)

I became a Dolphins fan around 85. That's when I started watching football, and fell in love with the passing game right away. To an 8-year old, that's more interesting than "3 yards and a cloud of dust". The attraction to the Marino to Clayton and Duper combo was a natural.

I'm a Production Manager for an Advertising Agency in NJ. Been in the business for 14 years.

When I was young (mid-70's) my folks bought me a Bob Griese jersey and I wore it everywhere. In fact, they bought me two more just so I would be able to wear a clean one with regularity. Of course having light brown hair that was parted on the side with glasses, I was mistaken for Griese on many occasions (hahahaha).
