Vin Diesel Replaced in Hitman Flick

This news is about a month old, but with all of the negative feedback Vin was receiving, maybe this was for the best of the movie and the franchise.

A good actor from what I have seen this guy in, I just hope hes not just going to treat this film like just another paycheck. The role of a "genetically engineered clone assassin" needs to be played with much effort

Yea it was talked about in the lounge. I personally did not want vin in the part he does not fit it. Olyphant I dunno if he can do it but atleast its a shot in the dark I wouldn't like vin in the part. The perfect person for that role in my opinion. Jason Statham..

Anyways writer is the guy from swordfish. The producer is luc besson he did the movies like the professional and transporter.

Why didn't they get that guy from the transporter movies?

Its all speculation that Stratham would even want the role. I think there might be more warranting of the question of why not give the role to David Bateson, the guy that the character was actually designed around.

I understood why they were going with Vin at first even if I didnt think Vin was all that great - he would make the film alot of cash at the box office, and movies are a business..

Going from a big name like vin straight to Timmy Olyphant though .

Like Ive said before, I have seen Olyphant in some movies(A Man Apart, Gone in 60 Seconds, DreamCatcher, Go) and he is a good actor. Still, I think it would be pretty reassuring to just get the real voice and profile from the games. I dont know if Olyphant is going to draw in alot more cash than Bateson would, but Olyphant may work better on the screen- who knows.

Regardless, Im a huge Hitman fan. Im confident that this won't just be another action movie, and it should have an intriguing and provocative story.

Busy. Jason Statham is starring in 4 movies over the next 2 years a couple more could slide in for the end of 2008.

He unwisely signed to Uwe Boll's Dungeon Siege
He's signed onto Rogue (Jet Li vs Jason Statham....hells yah)
He's signed onto some movie called Baker Street
and then of course the Italian Job sequel "The Brazilian Job"

He's not the only one to. Others who fell into the trap include the awesome John Rhys-Davies, Ray Liotta, Matthew Lillard, Leelee Sobieski, Ron Perlman (Hellboy!), Burt Reynolds, Claire Forlani (still makes me drool to this day).

So he isn't the only one that fell for it.

Olyphant is an excelent actor. My only reservation about him is whether he looks ok bald or not.

vin diesel stinks.......like a dirty sock.

new guy doesnt really look the part.

its sad in todays world that even jason statlm can be regarded as an action hero..... i remmber the real action hero days like ....arnold, stalon, van dam, bruce lee.....hell even chuck norris.

i mean at least these guys worked out and looked the part. vin works out but looks like a ******. then you got this new guy that looks like a pencil...harly a believable bad***.

Yeah, thats the one.

Im curious as to how he will look as a cloned bald albino assassin myself. Hopefully he will understand this role better than the fans who played through the Hitman games. Actors are used to portraying emotion on screen, and Agent 47 has no emotions really. When he was being genetically designed, they removed the basic emotions that humans have, so that he would be a more ruthless assassin. Still, nature gave way to basic instincts, and Agent 47 has a soft spot for animals.

I would still rather have Bateson though, I would have had chills going down my spine the first time I would have heard Bateson's voice. Listen to this.
