Deltha O'Neal For Real!!

I know this guy is gettin older at 31.. but i think he could give us 2 good years at least.. or he could just come in to add depth at to our weak secondary.. i honestly think he could start opposite of will allen... what do u guys think?

Deltha O'Neal is still in the league?

I say go for it, sign him up with Sam Madison, Vinny Testerverde and Rosevelt Colvin and we'll kickoff the 2008 season with the "2002 tribute team!".

whats funny is our secondary actually has alot of talent. We are stacked in the safety area, and at corner we have some nice players such as will allen, michael lehan, andre goodman, joey thomas, and nate jones

will allen is the only starting caliber corner

I've never thought Deltha was any good, and, if he was that good, teams woudl've kept him. That said...I think he'd beat out the present CBs...Ricvky Manning sure would.

"stacked" is a strong word for the safeties....they are ok, Bell has to stay healthy and you can probably get by with them.

The corners you mention as the poster above notes probably aren't worthy of starting spots in this league, but i guess a few of them have developmental potential that exceeds that of any of the has-beens on the market like Deltha O'Neal who was good about 5 years ago. I'd ride it out with the corners we have now, and draft or sign someone next season.

o i would take ricky manning jr in a heart beat.. but teams did keep him.. in his 10 years he played for 2 teams.. and he had 10 ints in 05

He was good for about one game.....

Although he's one of Donovan McNabb's favorite targets.

I think were ok in the secondary for now unless a real legit player gets released. Not Deltha O'Niel.

We're not talking about somone being a superstar dude....SADLY he upgrades our depth.

Yeah but come on, these guys aren't even better than what we have. If they number 1 or 2 corners in this league they wouldn't be being cut. Guys like Bryant and O'Neal are just over the hill. It would be better for us to just stick it out with what we have.

I feel pretty strongly that Ricky Manning could help alot. ONEal is more marginal, I do agree there. He was always more sizzle than steak. Manning was a cut from the Bears on a Salary/Performance ratio on a good Defense. We'll overpay, that's granted, but, I think the guy outplays at LEAST nickle corner and, it's aposition of need.

not exactly "stacked" our SS doesnt even have a back up

These "name" guys who get cut seem like they would be good pick-ups because they are...well......"names". The fact is that they are cut for a reason. Maybe O'Neal would help us. Maybe not. This is one that we will have to trust the Trifecta on. They have access to WAY more info than we do. We have opinions. They have the facts.
