Cant wait to see how Jake handles him during game 1 that is if Gholston even makes the starting lineup. Whoooo
Gholston made a highlight real out of Jake in college.

You don't draft guys to perform in year 1, you draft them to perform for years. When we drafted Blair Thomas he had a good rookie year but I think most Jet fans would have preferred he stunk as a rookie and got better instead of going in the other direction.

We'll find out in 3-4 years who made the correct decisions on draft day. Remember the Giants trdae for Eli manning in '04 looked like one of the worst trdaes in the history of the sport until Jan-Feb of this year where it now looks pretty good.

vernon gholston has the best bullrush i've seen from an end coming out of college in quite some time. he's quite quick around the edge also.

should be some test for jake. i still think he'll do fine

jake was only credited with giving up one sack to gholston. however, jake did get pushed back into henne numerous times by gholstons bull rush. quite impressive game for gholston. whoever was playing inside of jake on that side was getting destroyed on every play making jake look worse than he actually was.

Gholston was only credited with one sack in that game, but Jake gave up three sacks in his college career and TWO OF THEM WERE TO GHOLSTON!!!Gholston was a terror that whole game, not just the sack.He will be somewhere around double digit sacks as a part time specialist this year.

Eli could go back to being a mediocre QB and that trade would still have been worth itb/c he led them to a SB and he was ALOT better ion the giants run to a SB then his brother was the year before.

The same logic could apply to this thread. One game. Kinda silly really. If the Phins took Gholston people here would talk him up as the next LT. Nothing new really.

Ghoulston and Chris Long seem to be in the same boat....lost in yr 1. It's difficult to go from a 4-3 DE to a 3-4 OLB. The Ghoulston pick will probably work out well in the future...trouble is with all the money the Jets are throwing at Band-aids it looks to me with the cap situation the future of the franchise is in trouble. The FO sold that down the river to try and save their jobs. Being a fins fan I've seen it A LOT.

Band-aids? Favre is a 1-2 year player(much like Chad is for you guys) but who outside of Favre is a 1-2 year player? The Coaching Staff and FO jobs were safe this year, they didn't need to spend to save their jobs. They have been here 2 years and made the postseason 1 of those 2 years. Their jobs were not and still are not in jeopardy. We had some holes and they filled them nicely w/ some FAs and trades.

If the Jets go 4-12 this year their jobs will most definetly be in jeopardy after spending all that money and making no progress
