Interesting Stallworth/Washington information...

Being the sports geek that I am :goof: , I called into a local radio sports show this morning to talk with the Knoxville newspaper UT sports writers about New England dumping the 2001 Florida WRs for the 2001 UT WRs. Their comment was "I wonder if they still hate each other as much as they did at while they were at UT."

I had completely forgotten that they really, really disliked each other while they were here. They were oil and water, with the ego-centric Washington calling out the milder-mannered Stallworth. We'll see what a few million dollars, a good veteran presence in the NE locker room, and BB screaming his head off at them will do...

Haha I remember those days. Didn't Washington make up his own nickname too? "The Future" or something and then go out for the last part of the season with a neck injury? Ah... good times

According to Washington there is no problems or hard feeling between him and Stallworth.

Washington touched on his relationship with Donte' Stallworth, as the two played together at the University of Tennessee. He said the two haven't spoken since signing with the Patriots but that they have a "great relationship." Washington was asked about prior reports that indicated there might be friction between the two, because they were going to leave school together in 2002 before Washington ended up returning to Tennessee. "I see Donte' all the time in the offseason down here in South Florida. I believe that [situation] is definitely a miscommunication [with the media]. We both could have left school and been first round, Donte' left school and he was the [13th] pick in the first round. I decided to stay. He was a first-round pick, I was a third-round pick. We're both blessed to play in the NFL. There are no hard feelings between either one of us."

Probably more like the press trying to sell papers. Good news doesn't sell in America.
