Jets + Ben Utecht News...

The Jets have reportedly dropped out of the bidding for restricted free agent TE Ben Utecht.

If the Bengals want to get something done with him, it appears they have no competition. Utecht could still return to Indianapolis and make $927,000.

Damn...adding Utecht would have put us over the top and made us SB favorites. I have now lost all hope for the season.

Let me guess, now the Jet's are going to be labeled stupid for not signing him, but if we did sign him, we would be labeled as overpaying!

One thing's for certain. Well, it's my opinion, anyway Utecht was greatly helped by the entire WR group and Dallas Clarke. But then again, it seems to me that Cinci has been trying to play the same pinball style of play that Indy plays. So he's probably going to be more of a benefit for them than he would be for the Jets.
All that said, if the Jets would have gotten into a bidding war over him I would have thought they were stupid.

I think Utecht would have been a solid addition but if he wants too much he can get it somewhere else. I would guess we are done overpaying this offseason?
