Keyshawn to the Pats?!?

What is this... Madden? This is just getting rediculous... but apparently ESPN's Michael Smith is reporting that Keyshawn may be going to the Pats...

The Pats are just getting out of hand...

ESPN's Michael Smith reported today that free agent receiver Keyshawn Johnson could be headed to New England, in part because of his relationship with Bill Belichick (from their days with the Jets).

Honestly who cares they can sign all the underachieving WR's in the NFL, our Def. is based on pass rush/making BIG plays in the back field, plus theyre weakness will be the running game, cause L. Maroney hasnt proved he can last a full NFL season. K. Johnson will run routes with a NFL approved walker

How much money were they under the cap as soon as the offseason started? Does anyone know? You'd think they were the Yankees or something.

Relax, the chances of the Patriots actually signing him are extremely slim. His demands are high and there are teams that have more interest and need than the Patriots (and playing time will definitely be a factor in his decision.) I will go on record to say that I would be SHOCKED if the Patriots signed Key Johnson.

I hope so for your sake. Where would he play? I mean, Randy and Keyshawn... with Stallworth in the slot... and then you traded a 2nd round pick for Welker to be your #4????

If they sign keyshawn that welker trade is even more hilarious cause he will be like the 5th WR.

If he did go ,no-team would be able to live with that Pats offence.

i hate the pats, but besides manning, brady is the most accurate qb in the nfl. with a set of receivers like this he is going to throw up sickening statistics.

I really hope they do sign Keyshawn. Him and Randy can tag team running the Patriot locker room into the ground.

Not only that, with Keyshawn safely landing in New England, it helps our chances of being able to trade Booker.

They might sound like a group therapy session for marriage counseling.

They have handed out 40M in bonus money this offseason, most of that to Welker, Thomas, Brady, & Morris. Moss, Stallworth, & Washington got little to no money up front (less than 2M ttl), and all have one yr 'prove it' deals. They can all be released with relatively no cap hit at all prior to the season.

They were about $27M under the cap this year, and, as of next week, will still be @ 10M under. Fututre years still looking good, though they need to rework Brady's deal at some point.

This story was a flyer by Smith for Keyshawn over a week ago. It won't happen, unless he'd also like to sign a 'prove it' deal w/ no bonus.

What is NE planning a seven receiver set this would be a bad pick up for them They don't need any more WR's. That said let them waste the money.
