laveranues coles situation to unfold like pete kendalls??

Anybody in here think that coles' situation will turn out similar to the way pete kendalls did last year.

Coles is said to be very unhappy about the lack of a long term deal and had some pretty harsh words for the jets FO in the star ledger.

He's 30 and has 2 years left on his deal, but still wants a long term deal.

Didn't we pass on this guy in the draft and piss him off way back when, I thought I heard that during one of the games this past year on sunday ticket.

This is a lot like the kendall situation last year, kendall skipped offseason workouts and was eventually shown the door.

Do you see this as being similar, or just another chad johnson situation, where he will ultimately still be with the jets in the coming seasons.

I don't know if he would be a good fit here or not, but I have a feeling he may want to come here, after being bitter over the draft scenario, if it is indeed true.

I think it is going to run EXACTLY like the Kendall situation

not to change the subject already, but whats the latest on vilma.

I thought I read awhile back that he was unsure he would be in NY next year.

know anything about him. I don't know if we show any interest there or not, with the recent ZT cut.

The Jets are looking to trade him, probably for a 2nd. We wont look at him though, he is too small for a 3-4 and has has injury questions recently. I think he is overrated too IMHO

Agreed. If they didnt pay kendall, who actually deserved it, they're not going to keep coles, who doesn't deserve it.

anybody interested in bringing him in here if the price is right.

and what would the price have to be, to be right?

obviously we are going to add a WR somehow, would he fit in.

I would prefer a bigger, more physical guy, but coles has had his way us more often than not.

Zach thomas dropping him like a load of groceries sure was sweet as hell though!!!

i dont think he is a good fit here. Our offense will be one of the youngest in the league and he will need time to get acclimated to that, at least a year. We have to stick with young guys so they can all grow together...

I bet that was LC's first thought, thank god Zach wont be covering the middle anymore.

I don't want Coles here, he's kind of a scumbag as well. He's got a long history of pissing people off from Bobby Bowden and his off the field antics at FSU to the people in NY. This would be the 2nd team in a row to trade him because he wants out and yeah he's talented but his also got a lingering foot injury and he's a nut case.

Laveranues Coles, as much as I love and respect him as a player, has got to get over Laveranues Coles.

LC is tough, he's a warrior, yes, and he has sacrificed himself for the team, yes, but, the NFL is a business. The Pete Kendall situation was handled terribly and many Jets fans disagreed with what happened with him but I can tell you as a Jets fan that many Jets fans will side with the organization in this contract dispute.

The Jets have come out and said that they will GUARENTEE - something no other team would probably do - the final two years, $11 million of his salary, which means he could break both his legs tomorrow and he'd still receive his $11 million for two seasons that he never played. Thats a stand up thing to do for somebody who could be a concussion or two away from retirement and who missed games due to concussion problems in 2007.

If LC were to stay healthy in 2008 then I say yes, re-up him for another three or four years, but to do it now would be stupid. LC needs to shut his mouth, play football, stay healthy and then receive his deal. $11 million guarenteed by the Jets is generous enough for a receiver in his 30's coming off concussion problems.

Enough is enough.

If this gets messy, look for LC not to be released, but to be traded to Kansas City, back to his ol' pal Herm.

Hey, at least they don't wear teal like a team full of 1-15 sissy boys.

Basically there are only 2 players on the Jets I respect. Coles and Rhodes/Vilma. Maybe Washington.

Coles is a favorite of mine though, you have to admit Coles is pretty darn good.

I'm sure they'll sleep better tonight knowing that some 15 year old Fins fan "respects" them.
