I'm at my job right now and one of our clients is named Curtis James Martin Jr, and it reminded me of Curtis Martin.

Is Curtis coming back any time soon? Is he going to retire? It's probably late, but I forgot and would like to know what's up with this HOF player.

Has to wait to a certain date for some kind of insurance to kick in and pay him. That's all

RB Martin to make Jets retirement official

Curtis Martin will officially announce his retirement within the next two days, The Post has learned. The Jets are expected to make Martin's retirement official with a formal announcement before training camp begins. All players are due to report to Weeb Ewbank Hall on Thursday, with two-a-day practice sessions beginning Friday, meaning the likely day for his ceremonial final run is tomorrow. The time and place for Martin's formal goodbye has yet to be finalized, but it probably will take place in Manhattan. -- NY Post

Jets will announce in their news conference that Curtis Martin will announce his retirement from the NFL after an 11-year career playing for both the Jets and Patriots prior to their start of training camp on Friday.

As much as i rooted against Martin on sundays when he played Miami he is a great player. Always has been a threat for the jets and i will miss seeing him play. He had a good career.

He's on the early show right now. Just came to this thread and they introduce him on The Early Show. Said he's done playing football in the NFL, but not done with the NFL - he's definitely in negotiations to purchase an NFL team but wouldn't say which team.

I must admit as much as I loathe the Jets..Martin was a great RB, and he had a solid career.

Curtis Martin officially retired yesterday and today on WFAN (NY) said it was a dream of his to buy a team. He said he had the funds and was close enough on a deal for a team and that he thought he would have been able to make an announcement in the near future.

Well, its just around this time of year that speculation on Wayne selling part or all of the team surfaces. Coupled with that with the fact that Martin has a house in Miami and said he spends most of his time between Miami and NY and it makes you wonder.

Yea i like curtis martin and all but im not sure if i would want a longtime jet player buying the dolphins
