My AFC EAST Breakdown

JETS 7-9

At the QB position - its hard to tell whats going to happen. I think Clemens should start the season. He should be alright behind that nasty Oline they have. Addition Faneca will be a great help at the blind side. In my opinion - they are stacked at Tight End if Keller plays like he did in College. Coles needs a solid #2 WR opposite with him. Defensively - the line is pretty good. The linebackers and d-backs dont really scare me too much. Revis is getting better but all in all - they are all average CBs at best at the moment.

BILLS 9-7

The QB position is settled with Edwards - probably one of the best rookie QBs ive ever seen. He is my biggest concern on the team. The offensive line is average and the receiving corps is alright. Hardy and Evans is a scary combination. The defense is looking GREAT. I'm still not sold on KO simpson at safety... but Buffalo is stacked at Cornerback and Linebackers. This year lies in the arm of Edwards.

DOLPHINS 5-11

The QB position in Miami is horrid. Hopefully Beck or Henne can step up because we all know what McCown can do - and its not much. The receiving core is average but Wilford should be a fan favorite in Miami. The moves Parcells made this year are very questionable. I think it will be a fun year for Miami fans. I'm looking foward to seeing Torbor with Porter at LB - this, to me, is their best position. The fins should have won alot more games last year.

PATRIOTS 14-2

Brady and the gang are back and something tells me they don't give a crap about records this year. They want to win the easiest way possible. I don't expect large leads like last year but I do expect them to come out firing. They need to. Their d-backs need help. Expect the patriots offense to stay on the field more than usual this year with a better running game.

BEST:
QB - Brady
RB - Lynch
TE - Watson
FB - Heath Evans
WR 1 - Moss
WR 2 - Evans
DE 1 - Seymour
DE 2 - Schobel
DT 1 - Wilfork
DT 2 - Stroud
LB - Thomas
CB 1 - McGee
CB 2 - Revis (Edit)
FS/SS - Whitner

Thats my 2 cents

This is a fair assessment but Jerricho Cotchery plays opposite Coles and he's arguably better than Coles so we have a #2 WR. After that the questions begin but we have one of the better duos in the game and I think the best in the division. Moss is clearly the best WR, it's not close but Cotc is better than Welker. Welker has the benfit of playing opposite the best WR in the game and having the best QB of this generation throw to him.

How is Edwards one of the best rookie QBs you have ever seen but kellen Clemens should be ok? Clemens and Edwrads were basically the same player last year and are both at similar stages of development. If I was betting I'd expect Edwards to be better but he's still developing and he was decent last year- far from great.

defensively David Harris is the best inside LB in the division, Rhodes the best S and Revis the best corner. Justin Miller may not even start, how could he be on your list of best in the AFCE?

Did I say Miller was the best on my list? Cross that out. I'll put Hobbs, Greer, or Revis on there.

Edwards has poise and will take a hit which is awesome... hes amazing in the pocket like Brady.

I still think the Jets can use a better WR tag team

You do know Jerricho Cotchery plays for the Jets, right?

2006 & 2007:
Evans: 137 recs, 2141 yds, 13 TDs
Cotch: 164 recs, 2091 yds, 8 TDs

Evans is more of a deep threat but their #s are comparable despite Cotch being a 2nd option most of the last 2 years AND he played the 2nd half of the year w/ a broken finger.

I do know

I'd still take Evans though...and i changed Miller to Revis

Truthfully I don't follow every Jets game as much as I should making these blogs

Sure I'd take Evans too, that's not the point. The point is the Jets have an excellent starting duo, only the Pats could make a claim for a better starting duo in the division.

The only reason why David Harris is even close to being the best is because Poz went down early in the year. Before he went down he was having a D rookie of the year type season.

Harris is NOT as good as POZ

If Harris started a few more games he would have won rookie of the year, as it was only starting 9 games he was very close to Willis(better in some categories) and he completely transformed our defense. Poz has to play catch up to catch Harris.

I'm still worried that he doesn't get up from those "hits"--his injury history is a bit of a concern.....

Revis is not better than McGee after 1 season in the NFL. McGee had 1 more interception than Revis and played a game less.

Also I will agree Rhodes is the best FS in the league, not the best safety, as he could never be a better strong safety than Rodney Harrison.

Harris is the best MLB I will agree with that.

You cannot just judge solely on INTs. In 2005 Ty Law was pretty bad for us but he had 10 INTs b/c QBs kept throwing towards him, he got burnt alot more than he suceeded but he made the PB based on 10 INTs and people that didn't watch the games think he had a great year.

7-9 for the Jets is a little low, but I am thinking 9-7/10-6 so a few games could bounce either way.

Not sure the Dolphins are going to win 5.

NY Jets: 19-0

Greatest QB of all time, Leon Washington is Walter Payton, Cotchery will have 45 TDs and Rhodes will have 78 INTs.

I don't get why you tend to follow me in threads and crack on my posts? I post fair evaluations of both the jets and dolphins. I haven't called the Jets a SB team, I haven't said we are going to the playoffs. I don't say all our players are great but the few who are very good players I like to see get recognition.
