This is just amazing. How does he continue to get away with stuff like this?

The answer resides in that little logo on his helmet. If he were a Tennessee Titan or a Miami Dolphin, he'd have been suspended till 2010.

Players I'm looking at for 08 draft: Adarius Bowman, DR Cromartie, Martin Rucker, Bruce Davis, Shannon Tevaga, Tracy Porter, Brian Brohm, Matt Ryan, Chris Long, John Carlson, Chauncey Washington (ex-HS teammate)
Interesting fact: Bill Parcells was the 1st NFL coach to have Gatorade dumped on him after a W in 1985.

The 15 yard penalty on Wilfork for grabbing the face mask on Michael Turner got him this fine.

Total amount paid in fines this season - $37,500.00.

????...has anyone ever been suspended for a facemask penalty? Those things happen in just about every game. It's not okay, hence the 15 yd penalty as well as the subsequent fine. However, I think a suspension is a little over the top.

I would think blatantly sticking your fingers inside a facemask with the obvious intent to poke a guy's eyes out would've warrented a suspension. Combined with this new facemask attack, he should've gotten a suspension.

I think this is more proof the job of commisioner of the nfl is a dictatorship. Next we'll see fines for offsides and false starts. It was a common 15 yrd face mask penality as there were a ton of this season league wide.....I don't recall anyone else getting a fine.

So much for those who say that the league favors the Pats or that they get all the calls.

I guess I wouldn't expect anything less from a cheatriots fan. Wilfork is just another classless member of a classless organization with a classless fan base. The reason he got fined is because he showed intent to injure another player just like trying to poke other players in the eye. It's just another display of Wilfork's lack of character, you can't blame him too much I guess, does anyone have character in that organization??

So a penality that shows intent to injure should accompany a fine too?
Like roughing the passer or kicker? Where does the league draw the line?
It was a 15 yd penalty because he didn't instantly let go on the face mask and the penality occured in a run up the gut by turner...it wasn't flagrant and its not a penality Wilforks been called for or warned on repeatedly like the horse collar fine. Like I stated it happens a lot through out the league aren't those other guys showing intent to injure? So why no other fask mask fines handed out this season? Put all the hate aside for a moment and think about it.

There have been fines in the past for acts that show intent to injure this is nothing new to the league. In my opinion they should start handing out suspensions along with higher fines for players that show intent to injure. When you're pulling a guys head back by his face mask after he is down you have no place in the NFL.

Every face mask penalty does not show intent to injure. Just like every running into the kicker and roughing the passer penalty dose not show intent to injure. You're trying to make a broad statement about all personal foul penalties where as the NFL is watching the tape and looking at intent.

Exactly what I was saying. Wilfork Did not show intent to injure...he didn't pull turners head back or or pull it after he was down. It was the same "graden varity" type of face mask penality I've see many many times nothing blantant with intent to injure the player. I have a feeling you didn't actually see the game and the call?
I'm not the one that made a broad statement. You said it was a fine because it shows intent to injure, I just pointed out that there are a lot of penalities that can be considered intent to injure. Wilfork did grab the face mask and didn't instantly let go thus the 15 yarder. There was no head jerking back or continuation after the player was down or the play was over. This commisioner needs to show some consistancy in the fines he doles out and IMO this one is BS.

No doubt about it. The Patriots now have 2 of the dirtiest players in the league on one defense.....

I REALLY hope Karma finally bites them where the sun dont shine...They have had it coming since the infamous TUCK
