I think a good argument can be made either way for signing or not signing Pace. For what the Dolphins are planning to do, however, I'm probably glad that they passed.

There's quite a bit of difference, however, between the money that Starks and Pace received. Which means it will probably a lot easier to justify Starks' signing in a couple of years than it will be Pace's.

1. The DRob trade is not dead, it just hasn't happened yet. One way or the other his contract is coming off the books. I'm pretty sure we'll have to eat a portion of his contract one way or the other, just a matter of how much. 2. How many FA trips did Faneca make? From what I understand it was one, so how many other teams could have offered him a contract? Regardless, I'll take it. He's one of the best at his position. 3. Jenkins is a cancer? Most guys that aren't happy with there situation make some noise, Jenkins is no exception. Randy Moss was a "cancer" before last season and look how that worked out. 4. Coles is a good player and I'd like to see him get a new contract, but he's getting older and the Jets might decide he's not worth the money. Whatever. 5. Every Jets fan wants to see Rhodes deal get done ASAP. Most of us aren't worried because he's under contract this season and we can Franchise him the next. 2 more seasons in green at least, and by that time the Jets will figure out a way to get him signed. 6. No, we don't have our own stadium. Soon though, we'll be 50/50 with a state of the art facility that shames the stadium the Fins call home. You really shouldn't talk smack about home fields either considering when we play there Jets fans represent as much if not more then Fin fans do. 7. Crushing the Jets....you might want to set your sights on getting at least a season split first. How long has it been?

1-The Giants called, you're late with the rent again. ![]() 2-BTW,YOU should'nt talk smack either because Dolphin fans fill Giants Stadium too when we play you. 3-I'm glad you are getting a new stadium,The Giants and their fans deserve it.

Damn, late again? Oh well, no worries in a few years. Dolphin fans do not fill Giants stadium. Not even close. If you added the number of Fin fans that attended Jets games to the number of Fin fans that attended there home games you'd still have a looooooong way to go to fill your own stadium. Got anything worthwhile to add or are you just one of "those" posters?

Parcells has been known to pull some shady things during his time as a head coach but what fans fail to realise while they admire his tactics is in the end don't be surprised when he pulls one of those moves to your team on his way out.

OK you guys are getting annoying, its like you are trying to convince yourselves that the Jets are in trouble. We have tons of money, and D-Rob is off the team either way, if he gets traded thats better for us, but either way he is off the team. You talk about the Jets front office being bad?? O.k maybe if you were talking about them like 3 years ago, but the new guys have done a good job so far, they have been excellent in the draft which is really what matters, getting 2 probowl talents in your first 2 rounds last season is amazing in David Harris and Darrelle Revis. We aren't going to be in cap hell, if you didn't realize, Tannenbaum is very highly praised by Bill Parcells, Tannenbaum's mentor is Parcells. Parcells before he took the Dolphins job told Tannenbaum to sign Alan Faneca. I don't see where you guys think that the Jets are hurting themselves in the future?? We aren't throwing away draft picks, FA signings aren't suppose to be for the future, its about filling holes, draft is for the future. And we have been great the last 2 years at that. Getting 3 starters that started 16 games a season in Ferguson, Mangold, Revis, and David Harris will be a full time starter this year. Kellen Clemens also will be, so that is 5 starters, with 4 being quality starters, above average players. 3 being pro bowl talents. Kerry Rhodes will be a Jet for his career, Mangini loves the dude way to much to let him go, he is a vocal leader for us, and young and a play maker. I predict a deal will get done over the summer, they wanted to sign FA and draft picks before my guess. We will be fine, take it as it is. Don't try and convince yourselves that we are going to be horrible for years and our moves are horrible. There is risk in some of the guys, Faneca is the only sure thing, but Jenkins seems motivated and happy right now, so that could mean a dominant Jenkins in the middle, Calvin Pace may be a STUD at OLB who knows, I never liked the signing, and Woody isn't make that much, he played great at RT last year, plus he has weight incentives, and seems much more happy with the Jets then the Lions, remember Woody was a pro bowl player with the Pats, Mangini will get him refocused and have him playing at a high level.

Well, Harris was selected near the top of Round 2 and the other three are first round picks (one being #4) so really, they should be pro bowl talents. I understand that obviously most first and second rounders don't become pro bowlers but theoretically, they are supposed to.
Faneca is a sure thing, for two years and then it becomes a question mark on if he will fall off. He may never fall off until the contract is at an end and he calls it quits ala someone like Willie Roaf, but to say he's a sure thing really is a false statement. And he didn't make any free agent visits I do believe - just accepted offers and was going to take the best one. I mean, I'm not saying the moves are neither bad nor good. It's not like the Jets are going to catch the Patriots right now anyways. Mangini couldn't keep that whole team last year, and now you're trying to gel in a bunch of new players while the vets aren't happy. Doesn't seem like a recipe for success to me.

The Jets have made some good moves, dont let your homerism blind you.
Faneca is definately worth his money, he's not a journeyman he is an all -pro guard. I wouldnt exactly say Pace is of the same quality. I had my doubts about him seeing as he only had one good year. But of he pans out its a solid move for the Jets. That reminds me of when the Pats signed AT last year
