Homer?...whatever I've been called worse! Call me what you may but I'm sorry if I'm not a pessimistic, fair weathered fan like some others on this board. (if you are a pessimistic, fair weathered fan please accept my appologies)

I never said it was going to be easy, I'm just sick of hearing that the sky is falling and the season hasn't even begun yet!

Let's see what happens when the games actually mean something!

According to 60% of the media people and fans, "the sky is falling" for the Patriots. :rolleyes2

 I'm a little confused are you a Fins or Pats fan?

If you're a Fins fan then obviously you haven't read any of my other posts in this thread!

On the other hand if you're a Pats fan then that explains everything!

Any given sunday right? I think you will make the playoffs because the teams in the West will punish eachother and you have a favorable schedule IMO but with all the questions surrounding your team I dont think you take the divison if we play how we are capable of and dont make stupid mistakes

I mean last year we were a reggie howard away from being tied for the divison (Although the last games result would have been different possibly with all the starters playing)

The Redskins stink, they are horrible and they are not coming close to making the playoffs. 4th and last in the NFC East, no freaking doubt about it. They are that bad. The Pats are a good team and they absolutely gashed them. Their O-Line stinks, their D-Line stinks, their Secondary stinks, their Special Teams stinks, their QB is grey and old, their star RB is out because he tried to hit stick someone in a preseason game, Randel El and Lloyd are completely overrated and the Redskins FO was more than happy to overpay them, their LB's are bad without Arrington. They might as well throw in the towel plus Gibbs gave away their entire 2007 draft pretty much. They are absolutely ridiculously bad. View the Redskins forums, everyone is predicting a 0-16 season, LOL.

I love how when fans express some slight concern about the team and it equates to the sky is falling. Sorry guy, ain't the case. You seem to forget that we see 1st teamers vs. 1st teamers in the preseason. We can draw quite a bit from those observations. You can't sit there and watch the team go anemic in the run game vs. Carolina and decide to just say to yourself "oh we will be fine." That outlook is nothing but your optimistic opinion routed in personal bias. That was a championship caliber defense, somebody we could possibly see in the SB if we somehow make it there. They're the marker.

It's obviously not even the regular season yet, but that performance was alarming along the o-line. They were getting blown up. You sit there and say it could come together. But have you ever considered that perhaps the talent on that o-line might not? I shouldn't even use the words talent. They're all average Joe's that Houck needs to make look better than they actually are.

Constructive criticism of the team is warranted. Turning a blind eye is not.

Let's be honest, it was a Skins team without aruably their best offensive weapon in Portis. Yeah it's nice to win, but in reality the game holds no merit.

I wouldn't put much stock in this win. It's a pres-season game. Meaningless reults.

Sure it was good news that the Patriots performed well. But ofcourse Redskins fans SHOULD be panicking. Their team is looking absolutely horrible, Portis or No Portis. View ExtremeSkins forum, everybody there is proclaiming the end of the world.

Who's turning a blind eye? Obviously the team is not perfect, nor is any team perfect. I'm sure even the '72 Dolphins would've been highly criticized by some on this board (not to name any names! )

The running game was not clicking very well against the Panthers, but perhaps the Panthers D were playing the run because the passing game certainly was working well including the pass blocking.

Part of the problem with the O-line is they have only had three games to play as a unit. It takes time to gel and in the mean time their play will be inconsistent.

O-line is a position that everyone of the five lineman need to be on the same page. You have to have the confidence that the guy beside you is going to do his job and you don't have to cover for him while trying to block your guy.

Also some of them are new and still learning the blocking schemes. It makes a huge difference when you know the plays like the back of your hand and are not phased by any of the blitzes and stunts that the defense throws at you.

I played guard in college and played with the same center and tackle for three years. We all excelled because we could audible our blocking schemes at the line depending on the way the defense lined up and we each did our job without being confused or wonderding if the guy beside you would pick up on the adjustment.

The mental preparation of the game especially at O-line is just as important, if not more important than phyical abilities.

Hopefully this O-line will stay together and play as a unit and they will gel and become dominating for years to come! If they keep changing players in and out each year it will be more of the same, starting from square one with inconsistent play.

Definately this is a concern but give them a few more games together, they should get better and allow Ronnie to bust some HUGE plays!

In the mean time I'm going to remain highly optomistic, if that's ok with you?

P.S. I have an extra pair of Aqua colored glasses you're welcome to borrow!

No thanks bro. I don't need'em. I can actively watch my team and assess where I think they're at without needing to cover up.

Well DW that might account for why their offense sucked but it doesn't address why the patriots put points on the board in the fashion in which they did. 7 trips to the red zone and we came away with 5 Tds and 2 FG's. All we heard about was that great Greg Williams defense and what a "D" mastermind he is but you sure couldn't prove that by last nights effort by the skins defense.
