role reversal

ok, so if we want to say we have an arch rival or arch enemy, it's definetly the bills. we are the bills now. lets face it, the bills had a finish a few years ago like we did last year. so, a lot was expected of them, and i think a lot was expected of us this year. lots of people had us as a wild card or super bowl team.

here's where we're similar to the bills. when we're in the red zone, we don't do a lot.

the drive last week against the jets for example. i believe it was quarter the 3rd and ronnie brown had a big run that could have (and should have) set up a td, but we got a field goal (if i remember correctly, sometimes i get lost in their inconsistent play).

Please don't be too liberal with the Jills comparisons. That's just plain wrong man.

Please, just stop putting Miami and the Jills in the same sentence. I'm going to go throw up now.

Wherever Parcells has gone, I've followed and cheered that team, now he came to my beloved Dolphins. I must be in FinHEAVEN!

Thanks and Kudos to Crunchtime for the cool sig banners.

What about the fact Buffalo is better than the Dolphins and are going to sweep them this year?

Remind me, who is in the AFC East cellar, currently?

You guys are terrible, and yet you are still clutching onto those aqua and orange glasses.

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't the Bills only 1 game ahead of the Phins, not to mention the fact that you guys are coming off a loss to one of the last winless teams in the NFL? Also the Phins defense is still one of the better D's in the game while the Bills D is above average, but not on the same level.

I wasn't the one talking trash. The poster was the one who said not to put the Bills in the same sentence as the Dolphins.

You're talking to us about losing to the Lions? IIRC, the Phins certainly have no room to talk about opponents. They lost to the 1-4 Houston Texans, and the 2-3 Pittsburgh Steelers.

Onto defense, your D has given up 100 points through 6 games, an average of 16.6 points per game. Our D has given up 125 points through 6 games, an average of about 21 points.

Both of them could use some work.

But you haven't had the displeasure of facing the 6-0 Chicago Bears in Soldier Field. I recommend a nice, relaxing day of golf for all Phin fans on November 5th.

Understood, but....

The Phins would have beaten the Steelers (SuperBowl Defense) if Chambers catches that pass in the endzone or if Culpepper doesn't overthrow him on the other endzone play.

Ah, but the Phins defense only gives up 245 total yards a game to the Bills 322. Miami's defensive problems have been poor give/take away ratio and giving up timely big plays to the opposing offenses, even then the Phins pass defense ranks 6th in the NFL in passing yards allowed with 171 pg. Again, the Phins D is one of the better defenses and is what keeps them close in games.

I don't even hold the Bears game against you, the Lions game was more telling. The Lions are one of the worst teams in the league this year and the Bills only managed 247 yards total offense against a defense that has given up 342 ypg and 17 points against a D that gives up 26 ppg. Losman looked very good early on in the season but his play has leveled out.

I agree that both teams need work, hell both teams have played like garbage at times, but to say that the Phins are a terrible team when your team is in the same boat, seems a little daffy to me.

L2G, I know we're a rebuilding team, I never said we weren't.

But to say either team is better than the other, such as the poster did, is juvenile at this point.

Never did I say the Bills are a good team, but they are no worse off than the Phins, which is what I was trying to get across.

Well now that's out of the way....

Losman/Holcombe or Harrington/Culpepper (as a shell of his former self).

The similarities between the 04 and 05 Bills and the 05 and 06 Fins are very close.

* Both teams teased their fans with late season winning streaks against weak teams that hid fundamental weaknesses.
* Both teams failed to address weaknesses on the both lines. While the OL has been the main "goat" for both teams, the DLs haven't shined, and that's hurt the defense.
* Both teams changed significantly between their winning streaks and the start of the next season, and those changes weren't necessarily for the better.
* Both teams have, indeed, done poorly in the Red Zone. They also suffer in third down efficiency.

After their season of "high hopes" ran aground, the Bills cleaned house from GM to players, and brought in a new crew. This season has been miserable, particularly the last three games, but at least the Bills are losing with a lot of young guys who might get better. I expect that there will be more Bills vets gone after this season, particularly on D.

What will Miami do?
