The Jets played well but....

What the hell is Tony Dungy smoking?

All those years with Edge and the Colts are primarily a passing team, lighting up the scoreboard. Now Edge is gone and Dungy decides he wants to establish a running game?

That's like having a Ferrari Enzo in the driveway on a bright sunny day and deciding to take the Daewoo for a spin.

Dungy's stupidity actually kept the Jets in the game and left them with an opportunity to win. You saw that when he finally awakened from his stupor and took the reins off Manning, the Jets couldn't even slow him down.

That game shouldn't have been anywhere near as close as it was.

(Maybe I'm just bitter cause Manning's my FF starter. )

I just walked in from the car, and a Jet fan was on WFAN saying the same thing.

He said don't get me wrong, we played great, but why was Indy running so much???

Because they were getting 5-8 yards a run...Also, after the 1st quarter, the Jets dominated time of possession.

Ah, but if they stuck with their normal gameplan they'd have been ahead by so much that the Jets couldn't play the time of possession game.

C'mon man, you know that.

Wrong. The Jets defended the pass well, except for the last drive...

Watch the game. It is being replayed Tuesday on NFL Network.

Manning spends most of the time on the pine.

Um...wrong. Manning threw the ball only 15 times in the first half. They kept attempting to establish a running game. Even the announcers said it.

Manning rode the pine because the game was close and the Jets were able to play small ball. Had the Colts turned on the afterburners early and took the lead, the Jets wouldn't have been able to do that.

That's just basic football strategy.

And I watched the game.

Adia (sp) may turn out to be a better back than james. James was never a take over the game rusher. He knew how to run through holes, he didn't fumble, and his biggest asset was the passing game. He could pancake block defenders, and is the best at catching the ball out of the backfield. Losing James hurts Indi's passing attack more than their rushing attack.

Our run D sucks and indy is tyring to get thier run game going so what better spot to start? They were klling us on the ground and at the half their passing gamew wasn't doing much. We also ran too much, we ran 37 times and threw 23, they couldn't stopour passing game- if we threw more we could have kept up even if they threw more.

That's the thing. Our run D is terrible. D-Rob (D-Bust?) really struggles to get off a block, even when matched one-on-one. He made a couple plays, but for the most part he is dominated at the line. As a result, guys like Vilma and Barton have little room to make plays against the run.

That being said, pounding the ball was a smart option, IMO.

The Jets are a 11-5 team IMO. A legit playoff contender, most likely Wild Card as I don't think they will dethrone the Patriots this year, but likely have a better shot next year for the division title.

Nice team overall, wish my Dolphins can play with that much discipline.

The best QB to play at Pitt since Dan Marino was the guy who broke his records: Alex Van Pelt.

From your lips to God's ear.

Hoping we can get 9-7 or a prayer at 10-6.

Most likely 9-7.

Theres a reason the Gruden took essentially the same team that Dungy coached all the way to the championship and won when Dungy couldn't do squat with them. Every year when the playoffs start all those teams have to raise their game a notch and so does the coaching staffs. Notice that is when the bottom falls out of the colts train and Dungy isn't the guy thats able to raise the colts game to the next level.
