Do you draft players from other AFC East Teams?Just finished my draft, and I got laughed at because I dont (WONT), draft any players from the AFC East, besides Dolphins.
My Team: Brees J.Jones (Sea) D. Mcfadden T.Owens A.Boldin S.Holmes K.Boss D.Carpenter (K) Go Phins! DAL -DST Res. T.Ginn ![]() R.Williams ![]() R.Mendenhall D.Foster (Phi) I picked 7th. I think I did DAMN well, AND, I dont have any AFC players besides Fins. Is this silly? This is a $60/12 person league. Winner takes $500.

I hate picking guys from within the fins division. But this year I picked Randy Moss with my first pick and Thomas Jones with my 4th pick. Kinda sux but not much I can do. They were best players availble. I also picked Ricky Williams in the 9th round. Which I thought was great value.
But normally my rule is no Dolphins. Best rule is pick with your head not with your heart.

Anyways id be willing to bet you have the best recieving core in your league. And I think Drew Brees is gunna have an awesome year. Wouldnt be suprised if he ends the year as the best QB in fantasy football. With the best WRs and possibly the best QB, those 4 guys could carry your team all season!! Nice Job. J Jones is going to be very soild this season. Even though I dont think he'll score very many TDs I expect him to be a top 20 back, possibly top 15 if he can find the endzone 7-9 times. But with that being said your lacking at RB. McFadden is not the starting RB for the Raiders (Fargas). But as the season goes on I expect McFadden to get more touches. Week 1, I would definately start Ricky Williams. He should be very good the first half of the season, but I expect Ronnie to get more touches as he gets more comfortable with his knee.

I don't care what team they are on if they are the best player available and fit nicely on your team. I don't actively target our division, but I won't ignore it either. You draft to win your league, not a popularity contest. And to pretend there are no good players on our hated rivals would be a big mistake if you pass on quality guys just because they have the misfortune of playing on a team you don't like.
I consider it more important to look at their weekly matchups against opposing defenses/ strength of schedule. And unfortunately, Tom Brady and company have a cakewalk schedule this year compared to many teams. I'll probably lose a few weeks just because while I have Manning playing the Bears, Brady will be dismantling the Chiefs. so bottom line is if the guy is good and has many favorable matchups, then he should be heavily considered while drafting even if he is on a team you hate. Shoot, I've got Brett Farve just because he fell to me in the 10th round. How can you turn that down?

I'll look at AFCE players because there the ones I know the best. It's easier to find late value with those guys.

In short, yes, I don't hesitate to draft AFC East players. Dolphins, or whoever. I have Tom Brady, Laverneus Coles, Marshaawn Lynch, and Wes Welker. I try to wait a little for the Dolphin players, because I have drafted them too high in the past, and nobody else knows about them...except for my wife, who this year scooped up Ronnie and Ricky. She proceeded to cheer wildly after getting them. I was proud of her, and even though I have no Dolphins this year, she is obviously my next choice.
I guess the money comes from the same place anyways.

I grabbed M. Lynch early in the 2nd rd of my last draft. I had to pull the trigger.
Its best to keep your heart out of fantasy. |
