its pretty good... for a 10 team league i wouldn't go nuts over it though...
and i personally dont mind the dolphins DST, what i would do if i were you though is get another safer option incase the dolphins slip up and dont meet your expectations...

In a 10 team not bad for an auto draft, I have seen worse. In a 12 team league I'd be thrilled auto drafting this.
QB - Your weakest spot in my opinion, I am not a big fan of Delhomme as a fantasy QB. Who else is on the waiver wire ? As someone said Warner would be a solid choice if there. Keep an eye on O'sullivan, in a Martz offense he may put up serviceable numbers. It really depends who is available. RB - Solid one two with Portis and Grant (keep an eye on Grants injured hamstring for this week), Ricky is an average RB3, i love Chris Johnson's upside. WR - Hopefully this is a start 3 WR league, Colston, Marshall and Calvin Johnson will probably be the best trio in your league if it is. Chambers, Ginn and Stallworth are ok bye week fillers. TE - Dallas Clark is in the upper crust, Manning targets him in the redzone a lot and he seems to be getting a lot of play in the slot this year. K - Carpenter seems to have the leg, I'll reserve judgement until I see him in real pressure situations. The good news in a 10 team league a mid pack kicker is always available if Carpenter goes bad. Def/ST - What others have said about Miami's D/ST rankings is true, it is near the bottom fantasy wise. That said a few teams always surprise and Ginn seems to be getting the knack of returning kick. They are going to give up some points, if you don't penalize for that then they are average, if you do you might take a hit a couple weeks. Keep an eye on the Bills and Raiders as a couple sleeper D's. I tend to like leagues that don't put a lot of emphisis on Def/ST picks unless it is individual defensive players. Quote:

Thanks SwampDawg. I respect the insight. I apologize for the lack of detail on league type. It's the Finheaven league on ESPN which award only 4pts per pass TD and no points against DST for giving up too many points or too many yards.
I too have reservations about Delhomme but only in week 1 and 2 where he's w/out Smith. I tried to get Warner for Ginn (team owner loves Ginn) but no go. So I dropped Stallworth and picked up Pennington. The name of my team is Crush Brady and it just so happens that the Auto Draft gave me 4 'phins so, I figured I'll have a little fun with this team, add a respectable 'phin QB given the scoring, and keep 5 'phins on roster. If the real team doesn't do it, at least I get a virtual 'phins team to Crush Brady (we play the owner of Tom Brady in week 1). I'm quite bit more confident of Dolphins DST than most, and in my view, objectively so. Though league format makes it possible for me to grab an untested team at this spot, I'd take them even with "points against" looming. |

I think Jake Delhomme is this year's Derek Anderson. He's the sleeper pick of the qb's. He looks fully recovered from his Tommy surgery and was on fire in preseason. Once Smith returns, he will have the most weapons he's ever had there. The only concerns I worry about with him are reaggrivating his injury and how consistent the team will be, but you worry about that stuff with everybody. If you seriously don't want him, trade him. I'm sure there's at least one guy on your league that will offer someone of value for him. Trust me.

I'm with you on Jake. I too like him as a sleeper especially when Steve comes back. My problem was I needed a backup until then. Jake will likely be my starter in week 3 unless Penny becomes a beast.
But, given league scoring (4pts per pass TD) seems to me very few QBs will be able to give big points. |
