I'm in need of a WR, someone just offered me
Dwayne Bowe for Ricky Williams, should I pull the trigger?

Ricky is my 4th RB

For a more complete answer, I should first ask who your top 3 RBs are and who you have catching. As SwampDawg pointed out in separate thread, it's important to give more details about roster and league scoring for more complete help.

Notwithstanding any of above, I would say no to Bowe for Ricky. Alot of people are picking KC as the worst team in the league and Brodie Croyle is not impressing anyone.

Bowe for A Bradshaw, J Stewart, M Forte, and others like this, yes. For Ricky? no way. In my view, Ricky is going to surprise alot of people- so will the 'phins.

If Ricky is your number 4 I would do it and here it why. Other than Tony gonzalez Croyle has no one to throw to that is a big time player like I think Bowe will be. Also You will be able to find another RB for your bye weeks because there is always some running back that emerges as a great back every year. How ever wide receivers are thin after the top 30 and Bowe is a top 30 WR.

Pull the trigger and do it

Sorry I didnt give more info....My other RBs are Adrian Peterson, Portis, and Mike Turner (no, I have no Idea how portis fell to me in the 2nd rd). I also have Ahmad Bradshaw, but he doesn't want him.

Wr's came off the board early, and I took RB's, and brees early (3rd round). I had kevin curtis, so him going down and people like Jerry Porter and Javon walker have been question marks since we drafted. (drafted 3 weeks ago)

Scoring is typical point system for most leagues, point for reception, 100 yd games= more points, TD=6, and so on.
1 qb, 2 RBs, 3 WRs, 1 te, 1 k, 1 def

Your deep at RB, so it's probably good to trade and shore up WRs but, you have great RBs, why not trade for someone else? Or why not trade for more!

I say if WRs went early then someone with an extra strong WR is in need of a no. 1 RB. Trade Portis and get quality WRs. Rickey, I think is set to have a great year and if you love Portis and want to hold him, maybe after week 1 you can get more than Bowe for Rickey.

so, in my view, you have enough depth to trade an RB, but go for quality. Yes, Croyle has no one to throw to but this assumes Croyle can actually throw! Bowe will dissappoint, I think.

do it... Bowe put up almost 1000 yards last year with no QB and a crappy offense... and that was as a rookie, youd think the game is slowing down for him even more this year...

you can have good WRs on crappy teams, look at boldin/fitzgerald in arizona... roy williams/calvin johnson, etc...

Ricky is a luxury player for you right now and i think Ronnie will be carrying more than a lot of people here want to assume... you have to start 3 WRs and you basically have jack, do it

I'd do it, bowe is gonna be a top 15 wr this year...imo. Ricky will have a good year team wise, but his value for fantasy is not that high- splits carries with brown plus you have to think they'll get parmelle incorpated later in the year and brown will most likely get the goal line carries. I have bowe in my league and a few teams are trying to low ball me to get him and im really not moving him unless i get a deal i cant refuse. The guy has as much potential as any reciever in the league he reminds me of braylon edwards before last year and if things fall into place he could be as productive as edwards was last year-falling into place meaning getting solid qb play and a solid running game, having gonzales definatley helps him as well.

First, I'd dump Ahmad Bradshaw. He won't see enough time consistently to warrant you EVER starting him. Maybe if you had Jacobs, then as a hand-cuff, but even then Ward would be the better hand-cuff.

I'd actually get rid of Turner. He will be lucky to break 1000 yards behind an invisible line and will be splitting carries frequently. He also has a rookie qb that will be eaten alive allowing opposing D's to target Turner.

Ricky will be sharing carries too, but there should be plenty to go around even assuming Brown gets back up to speed quickly. Our o-line is better than Atlanta's too. I agree with the poster above that if you trade Ricky, wait until he tears it up here in the beginning.

I also think Bowe will be a great receiver, but not with Croyle. Croyle will not last as a starting qb. He is also in Herm Edward's neutered, vanilla offense. Bowe will be good, but not this year. I wouldn't even draft Larry Johnson on a horrible team like that.

If you are saying you have Porter, Curtis, and Walker as your wr's, then you definately need an upgrade. Shop Ricky and Turner around for a wr and maybe a hand-cuff for Portis or Peterson, and see who bites. You can do better than Bowe.

All pretty good advice so far. It is a fair deal but I wouldn't panic, shop Ricky and Turner and see what deals you can get. Hopefully. one or both have a nice week 1 and you can demand more
