Because Willingham is the better player by far. And Jacobs' production is far below league average sans homeruns.

He's 13 out of 15 in batting average.

He is DEAD last in OBP. A putrid .288! Horrible.

Now, I like Mike Jacobs. He's a good guy, and a decent player. But he hasn't played like a starter as of late. But a .288 OBP is NOT exactly what we want at first.

He's got the rest of the year to prove me wrong.

look on the bright side... only 3-5 years until Skipworth is ready. (He's projected to be a fast riser, only question is whether or not he stays at catcher. If he does, he'll be a stud. If not... he's gonna be a Nick Swisher type player).

With Tucker moving to the pen look for them to start developing him as a closer (something many projected him to be in the first place).

1 out away from a CG for Volstad. Let's hope he can build off this.

From what I've read, many scouting sites like Baseball America and Baseball Prospectus felt Volstad could be the best pitching prospect in all of baseball but he's not ranked higher because A)He hasn't really been dominant in AA (he's been very good but not dominant) and B)He's a sinker ball pitcher and they don't get as much love as guys who rely on strikeouts
