You're not going to find very many people who have the same good will towards Wannstedt as you do.

He wasn't a bad coach. I'm still a believer that it's the players who win the Championships. Those guys didn't do it. They had the talent to do it. Jay Fiedler wasn't the reason, nor was Wannstedt. They had the pieces in place to win, and they didn't do it.

The problem I have with Wannstedt is the management of the franchise. The reason why we were/are in dire straits now talent wise, is because of the poor drafting of this team during his tenure as the HC/GM. When Spielman got power, he wasn't any better.

I think that's where most of the ill will towards Wannstedt lies.

I was never a big fan of his and felt he was handed a job he did not deserve.

Mine was in 2000 During the Wildcard game against the Colts and Lamar Smith ran for 200 gillion yards and beat Manning and Colts. Dave jumped on his back after the game and gave him the team ball.

My favorite Dave Wannestant quote was after the Denver game in 2002 which we won when he gave Zach Thomas a game ball he said.

"We did'nt win with our minds we won with our... What Zach?"

"Our Hearts."

Of course he did have his down moments. I remember the Lobster traps before the Vikings game in 02 and we ended losing after Chris Carter dropped a TD Pass from Jay.

If Sparano and Co. Do not make it down here I would love to see Dave Wannestant back as coach of my Fins.
My favorite Wannstedt moment was when he announced he was leaving. I can't believe you actually started this thread. Dave Wannstedt is a big reason we have such gaping holes in our roster right now.

Coral Reefer is an unknown quantity at this point

Its amazing to me PITT hasn't figured out yet what a loser they hired.

Favorite Wannstedt moment?, the news that he was gone from this team forever.
About as accurate and answer as needed in this compeltely ridiculous thread.

Any Dolphin fan celebrating the Wanny years is either not a fan or insane.

Is this thread for serial? DW ran this team to the ground. We had the chance to make a serious run for a title but DW was in love with Feidler and didn't address the offense.
