Future Cap?

I have read that if a club structures the Bonus money into a roster bonus, they can take the cap hit on the year of their choosing. A player will of course refuse unless is the first year.

What if we do thais to take advantage of our current cap room. that way we will have a minumun hit in their last years, that way we dont have to cut them for cap purposes.

Roster bonuses count in full in the year paid. However, roster bonuses can also be converted to signing bonuses and prorated

Each method has it's advantages and disadvantages
