I love reading old scouting reports like this one on Tomlinson

It really shows how clueless these guys are.

http://www.footballsfuture.com/2001/...tomlinson.html

Here is the best part:

"GAZING INTO THE CRYSTAL BALL... Once he adjusts to running from a pro-set instead of a veer offense, watch him grow into a very effective back. Definitely starting material, but he has enough to only garner All-Pro consideration eventually, but this is no franchise back (or anyone else) here, folks. His numbers are very impressive, but he's a product of the team's system. Too bad too many general managers are desperate for a running back, as he'll go higher than his stock dictates."

He also says that he reminds him of Duce Staley lmao! The only thing similar about them is they both are black.

On Jamar Fletcher:

Quote:
GAZING INTO THE CRYSTAL BALL... Some will howl that I chose Fletcher over Smoot, but this guy has produced at a high level for years. If not for his lack of height, this kid would be hands-down a top ten pick. Just refer to Aaron Glenn's play in the NFL. Fletcher will be that good.

yeah i usually keep draft magazines around and revist them when the year is done. Its a lot of fun, and you really see how many stabs in the dark these people are taking.

If you look at their 2009 mock draft, they have us picking first and taking QB Matt Syafford out of Georgia. It says that even with Henne we need an upgrade at QB

But they thought that Jamar Fletcher was going to be good, lol

If we're picking #1 in the draft again in 2009....then it means we still have many, many, many needs....

I would think we would take the best defensive player on the board.....one that can generate a pass rush and play OLB in a 3-4....

The defensive player I think has the most potential and upside that fits that role would be Michael Johnson of Georgia Tech....hybrid type LB/DE.

The number one pick will belong to either the Chiefs or the Falcons, most likely. Maybe the Bengals.

I hate when guys like Mel Kiper act like their draft board is gospel. Good teams will see potential and make steals, Mel.

That's awful. He/She loses all credibility as a talent evaluator.
