Many options may be coming

I said before after this kid works out people are going to be going nuts and comparing him to Peterson. You watch the signals - we love Ryan and McFadden. IMO BP would ONLY take Gholston at #1. He's a perfect BP type of player and fits right at OLB. Ryan has a questionable head and we don't need a RB. CLong is too small at DE and too slow for OLB. Looks like we could have options IF we don't get greedy. McFadden is a franchise back and has the WOW potential.

Ronnie Brown will look like Darren McFadden with Jake Long blocking for him.

At his weight, Chris Long is not slow, he is quite fast.

But the reality is that Jake Long is the safest, cheapest, and plays at our most needed position.

Mcfadden is a toothpick. J. Long would be a nice pick. Gholston isn't the best player at his position C. Long is. The one thing your numbers don't measure when you compare Long and Gholston is heart and instincts. Long blows Ghoulston away in both areas and any player in the draft for that matter. Chris Long is the only player we can count on giving us the same effort and play on every single down from start of the year to end of his career. It's a no brainer that times, weights, and jumps can't tell the truth on.

He may be fast but he is going to have to break even more, and even tougher tackles in the NFL than he did in college, and he couldnt break them in college so what makes anyone think he will be able to break them in the NFL... If he gets knicked by a pinky finger in the NFL he's going down...

And everyone that I have listened to on the NFL network keeps saying he is no Adrianne Peterson. Mcfadden is more hype than anything else

So I guess that means Merriman can't play outside LB since he ran right around the same time at the combine.

First McFadden weighed in at 211lbs. I'm not quite sure of your defnition of a toothpick but for a 20 yr old RB that ain't small!
Second - Gholston and CLong play 2 DIFFERENT positions. Do your homework - Gholston is an OLB in a 3-4. CLong CAN'T play OLB - WAY TOO SLOW! He is TOO SLOW for DE as well. You want heart - you already have Roth. You want motor - you have Roth - what does that get you. #1 overall pick you want IMPACT! CLong does not make an impact at DE - OT's will swallow him up and he is not quick enough to get around. Look at Roth - he can't bull rush and he isn't quick enough - I see those two as being very similar. Neither can play OLB - NO WAY! BTW - effort is overrated - again Roth gives effort - We need to see results.

Are you kididng? Look I would not pick this guy. Way too many off the field issues - I don't think he is too bright. Football wise the guy is a talent - probably the best football talent coming out. That is not my opinion that is what the experts are saying. My point is because people are comparing him to AP we have a chance to make a trade out of the #1 spot. This kid is a very good RB and teams will want to get him. Again I wouldn't but I like that other teams will and hopefully it will help Miami trade down.

I would also like to add that Chris Long did play LB at times when Groh would stand him up. And also that Groh is a Parcells coaching tree disiple that has prepared Chris for Bills system for 4 years.

effort is overrated? WOW... Well this statement completed discredited anything you have to say...

I suppose you want everyone on the team to give no effort and lie down on the field...

No effort.. No result

So again, your saying Merriman can't play OLB? Chris Long and Merriman run the same speed.

Bad choice of words maybe when I say SLOW - I am not talking about his 40 time. What does that prove for a DE? Minimal. I mean how quick he is - can this guy get around the corner of an OT. Are you comparing Merriman's quickness and CLong's? If so I don't need to respond anymore. His jump off the line means a heck of alot more. CLong is not a fit as a DE in a 3-4 - sorry! Richard Seymour is a 3-4 DE with protypical size. If Long puts on 30 lbs then maybe. You think Long is going to cover TE's and backs? Seriously?

Excuse me. His legs are toothpicks. Long has played LB at UVA and has played against and praticed with top O-lineman for 4 years. He has played in a Parcells D and would contribute more than anyone else. I'm sorry you don't realize real players but you need to watch film on Long and Gholston and re-evaluate your thinking. Long is the only person ready to help our team immediately. He is also a a leader that does it both vocally and by example.
