There are trainers that train Olympic medal winners that are firmly of the belief that if he'd given up football for track, he would be an olympic gold medal winner on the U.S. 4x100 relay team.

Probably the most damning comparison for Ted Ginn would be Troy Williamson but Troy, first off, isn't as fast as Ted, and second just didn't draw as much respect from defenses as Ted Ginn did.
And Troy is not nearly as quick and elusive as Ginn. This guys makes wicked cuts, and has great visions, along with stopping on a dime. The amazing thing that you don't se often with players is how Ginn is so athletic and talented that he makes sharp cuts almost running full speed, like shown in the Ginn highlights. Most players have to slow down much more than Ginn, but Ginn just makes it look effortless.

Daunte Hall had no or very little experience playing WR until joining the NFL. He was a running back on a run oriented team at Texas A&M. Also it wasn't until a few years ago that Dick Vermeil, when he was the head coach of KC, told Hall that he needed to make some contribution as a WR and not just as a kick returner.

Ted Ginn atleast has 3 years of experience as a WR and can only improve with continued hard work.

And before that, Ginn was the #1 cornerback in america coming out of high school...and he played quarterback, wide receiver, etc in high school. So I think having experience as a corner gives you more heads up on the receiver's game than being a runningback. They say basically that cornerback is for the guys that would be wide receivers but can't catch. Ginn COULD catch, and that is why he got moved back to WR.

I don't doubt that at all - he can run a 13 second 110 meter hurdle. The world record currently stands at 13.14 seconds, and Ginn could clear it in 13.40. The guy is just fractions of a second off of world records, and this was when he was in high school! If he got down to it and trained soley for track, he'd definitely be a Olympic medalist.

The way our corners played the ball last year, this is true.

The world record for the 110 Meter High Hurdles is under 12.90. I can't remember the Chinese hurdler's name but he broke the previous record of 12.91 last year.

I see where I went wrong - that's what the record holder ran this year, not the world record. My apologies.

Good Posts CK. You hit the nail on the coffin. I've been telling everyone for the past 2 years that when this guy puts pads on, he is UNTOUCHABLE!!!! Ginn is one of the only players that has "track speed" and "football speed". And as for Devin Hester, he has great burst speed and agility, but has NO WHERE near the "long speed" as Ted Ginn. Im calling it now, Ted Ginn will get a return against the Jags in preseason.

Bush has track speed and football speed and definately had the long speed of TED GINN.

If I had to rank them I would go 1) Hester 2) Bush and 3)Ginn. Maybe that will change after this season but as for now it's hard to say anyone will be better than Hester was this season

While all three have similar talents I see Hester as the least talented of the three.

I can see Hester having the least talent overall but not as a KR/PR. He's tops in that category IMO. Having said that, I want to see what he does this year. PLENTY of return men have had a great year and then become average. See Dante Hall, Rocket Ismail, that guy the Saints had a few years ago, etc. None are ever consistant. I hope I am wrong with Hester though

Bush is very fast, but in pads he doesnt have the long speed of Ginn. If they ran from endzone to endzone Bush would have him the first 30 yards and then Ginn has the afterburners. Now running on the track I believe Bush has him, especially in the 100m. But hey their both really fast and talented, can't wait for the season to start.

I would rate Hester as the second best KR/PR (Ginn first). And it's not just my opinion. I'm blanking on which scout said but he is a respected scout. He said that Hester was the best returner in the last 10 years but that Ginn was the best returner he'd ever seen.
