JEts I hope he doesnt but Possibly can the titans nab him or do they want young?? Thoughts
Since my question would most likely not be answered in the huge pile of threads. Has there already been a press conference earlier with Culpepper and Saban. If not, do any of you guys know when or what time it will be on, or when you think it will probably be? thanks
Did all the attention the FO place on finding a QB cause us too draw focus away from signing players like Mawae who signed with the titans? or was there less interest in Mawae than people had assumed? also not a new poster, used to post under the name Upstatenyfinfan or upstatefinfan, forgot...
He will not have to endure that artificial turf anymore. Welcome to the green green grass of Miami.
Let me be the first to say that Culpepper MUST change that stupid "make a wheel with your fists really fast" celebration he does...please. Does this bother anyone else as much as it does me?
Just seen on ESPN2's bottom line that the Dolphins trade 2006 2nd round pick for Culpepper, rather than a 2007 pick.
Vikings coach Brad Childress said recently Culpepper is on schedule in his rehab from surgery in which he tore three knee ligaments after having a trainer fly to Florida to meet with Culpepper. The recovery time from such major surgery is 12 months, but Culpepper has told the Dolphins that he's...
Culpepper won't be at the start of the season and maybe not even the whole season. Who is going to start while he can't play? Sage is gone, Lemon has never played in a regular season game, and Frerotte probably won't restructure and will be cut. The only two FA available who are even close to...
Eagles | Owens released Tue, 14 Mar 2006 12:34:15 -0800 The Philadelphia Eagles have announced they have terminated the contract of WR Terrell Owens, making him an unrestricted free agent. www.kffl.com
seems that the site poll might want to be updated.
Hey guys, First off, what do you think we will sign Culpepper to? I read that he will def restructure so im wondering what we will be paying him. Second, what do you think Chambers' stats will be for next year considering he's got a guy who can throw the ball to him. Do you think he will...
Do you guys realize we gave up the same thing for Daunte and for AJ Feeley??? Scary. Thanks Dave and Rick.
There's a link on ESPN.com to an audio clip of Chris Mortensen talking about why the Dolphins backed away from Brees and went for Culpepper, as well as how it affects the upcoming draft. Unfortunately, I'm behind a firewall at work that won't let me listen to it. :tantrum: Can someone please...
What if Daunte doesn't pass the physical? That would leave us Daunte-less and Drew-less...what would we do after that? Ramsey? Do we start paying Gus the $10 million a year/$10 million guaranteed cash he deserves? (joke)...Does jumping the gun before Brees officially let us go hurt us?
Ok i really dont like that people are hating on Culpepper! He is a top 5 QB in the NFL. We should consider ourselves lucky to beable to aquire a guy like him. I posted this in a reply earlier. But ESPN.com ran an article a couple years ago giving the best individual QB seasons of all time. #1 was...
Every Fin fan should be very excited about Culpepper being a Dolphins for only a 2nd round pick. First off you tell me what QB in the 2nd round is a better fit for Miami other than Culpepper. Second, look it could be worse, we could be trading another 2nd rounder for a guy by the name of A.J....
Culpepper to Chambers and TO:eek: We are gona have fun guys:wink:
Saints | Contract update: D. Brees Tue, 14 Mar 2006 11:21:57 -0800 ESPN.com's John Clayton reports New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees agreed to a six-year, $60 million contract that included a $10 million signing bonus to join the Saints. www.kffl.com
http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/scorecard/nflnews.asp?articleID=161205this off-season isnt going to well
Dante coming to Miami is a great day for any Dolphin fan period!!!!! First of all any real Dolphin fan knows that Saban has done an outstanding job restructuring and fixing our franchise after the Wanny era of death.... Saban knows several things 1 A knee injury is not the same as a shoulder...
Espn says Eagles release Terrell Owens.
Espn says Eagles realease Terrell Owens
Get him Saban.
Now, that the qb is signed, let's get some AFC EAST perdictions... Miami 12-4 Patriots 10-6 Jets 7-9 Bills 3-13 :sidelol: Also, what is next for the fins? What should we do, who should we get? I need your opinions, I need something to go crazy about now that we figured out who is our...
Time to go for T.O. now that we have Culpepper. We have chambers lets add T.O.
Brees going to New Orleans reduces the Matt Leinhart getting drafted at #2 to New Orleans. New Orleans covets DE Mario Williams and now they have several options. 1) Draft him at #2 2) Trade down and draft him if they trade down they can't go lower than 5 and expect to get him so they can...
Titans | Mawae agrees to terms Tue, 14 Mar 2006 10:47:44 -0800 <A href="http://www.kffl.com/link/9">ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli reports the Tennessee Titans have agreed to terms with free agent OC Kevin Mawae (Jets) on an undisclosed contract we need Jeff Mitchell
We got Culpepper now, so let's get the supporting cast around him on Offense and let's get the Defense stronger. Fin fans let's all sit back and watch Saban do his MAGIC!!!!!! One EXCITED Fin Fan in CALI!!! :dolphins:
remember when LINEHAN was in min? pep had many great seasons . remember that we are still using that sistem .pep knows it ., when pep gets healty he will be a monster! trust saban!
Doesn't sound bad. I'm a little concerned about Daunte's leadership and knee injury, but he has proven he can play. Not to mention the obvious attention being paid to the Oline. You can't help but be optimistic about this offense right now. Something that hasn't been able to be said for some...
You can see everything is falling into place. Whether it was Culpepper or Brees, Saban knew he had to get a QB. It took a little longer than expected, and though you could argue maybe we missed out on Givens, everyone of the other guys we have targeted hasn't signed anywhere else. Goodman and Hodge...
I WANTED THIS GUY 2 DA PHINS IVE SAID HES THE BEST QB IB THE LEAGUE MANNING IS NOT CLUTCH NOR MAKE PLAYS WITH HIS FEET CULPEPPER- STORNGEST ARM IF NOT ONE OF THE TOP HES ACCURATE HES MOBILE HE WILL RUN BREAK TACKLES HES A MONSTER
And Rany McMike for that matter? Maybe they are concerned that TO might follow Culpepper, but the chance to have a PRoBowler throwing them the ball before they are too old to shine has got to have them geeked. I think Chambers sees himself as another Moss(whether he is or not), so who doesn't think...
I thought this article was excellent. He was born in a prison, who figured. http://www.daunteculpepper.net/ Wow am I happy we signed him. Brees couldn't touch these numbers and only for a second round pick. Gotta love it.
SABAN IS THE MAN. We are set for the next 5 years. What a great pickup for a second round pick. Check it out he was born in prison. ALSO LOOK AT THE NUMBERS THIS GUY PUTS UP and people here are still bitching that we gave up a second rounder. :goof: http://www.daunteculpepper.net/
Like most of you, I wanted Drew Brees to come to Miami....but then i started thinking...Drew Brees is a greedy young QB whos career, because of his shoulder, could be over with just one bad hit. Drew Brees is not worth the amount of money he has...he has proved nothing. He was on a team that was...
this is a great trade for the dolphins...this isnt the same trade with feeley...this guy is proven and will be fine...its his knee not his shoulder...i'm extremely happy about this trade and we will be a better team next year with daunte and he has a cannon..soo happy
he is standing pat until he knows whether or not Miami signs Brees. He wants to be here. That is more than can be said for Brees. Daunte has already said he will restructure and reports say he will be ready at most week 4 of the regular season. He already knows the Miami Dolphin offense. Brees only...
What does Brees have...a weak arm, bad shoulder, and a BIG contract in a city in ruins, where management stinks, and the team is about to be sold. What a mess that is. Hey Daunte still has his cannon, a bad knee like Willis McGhee, Daunte will be ok. Brees...get your money...because you will never...
yes im happy cpep is in aqua and orange but thats a done deal ...the big question is....whos next ?
And do you think Nick Saban will pull the trigger?
heres the link:sidelol: :sidelol: http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?showtopic=43264&st=0
WHO IS WITH ME. and stop banging on Culpepper like we have had a better quarterback in years. Nick is going to get him straight.
we have to get some real facts on culpeppers knee. I cant beleive saban would trade a 2nd round draft pick when we could trade up for cutler. I for one am very disapointed
I'm not sure if he is.His injury is huge bigger than Dante's.Would Miami want to take a risk with brees?I believe Dante is a better option. All Dante needs his time to throw.Im off the Brees bandwagon hoping on the Daunte boat party.
Look i honestly do trust Sabans decision making but, what he could have done was waited for Culpepper to be released, or even traded for Shaub. The 2 good things i like about this trade are: 1. Culpepper knows the style of this offensive system, the terminology and situations in case to make...
http://www.mercurynews.com/mld/mercurynews/sports/13937175.htm "I didn't like the trade last year, so I'm definitely not going to like this trade," McKinnie said. "Trading would not solve anything. What's that going to do? Make somebody else's team better that we might have to play against?"...

They guys on Sirius NFL radio were talking about the fact the even though Culpepper's deal sounds huge it actually isn't and it is very cap friendly. With that in mind where does this put us cap wise and I wonder who we will now target with the remaining money. I say we either go after the best...
Yes, according to John Clayton Kevin Mawae has agreed to a four year deal with the Titans, but good news David Givens signed with Tennessee also not the Pats.
Miami signs their new "hopefully" franchise QB exactly 6 years and 1 day after Marino retired. Actually according to ESPN, the Dolphins decided on Culpepper last night, so it would be 6 years to the exact day of Marino's retirement date (March 13th, 2000)
I wanted Brees! I wanted him badly. I wanted him more than 'Pepper by a long shot. But - that said - I'm not going to complain about it. 'Pepper is a great QB, even if he may not be able to play the full season for us. This is a trade for the next 5-7 years. Dude is mobil, has a cannon,...
What is DC cap number against our cap with the upcomming bonus of 6mil?
w/ culpepper's knee in question and his somewhat shaky play to start the season last year, we need to find a way to keep gus to have a reliable back up so we can have a successful season even if things don't work out w/ daunte. hopefully he can restructure his contract of 7 mill which seems way...
It's obvious Saban hates losing draft picks, do you see him trading for a second rounder? Who's a possible target? Not only would it get us another pick...but give us more cap room...
http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl Poll says 62%(last I checked) Vikings didn't get enough for Daunte!
Follow me on this. Culpepper to Miami thus Brees to New Orleans. After spending $10 mill a year won't draft Leinhart at #2 but will either take Mario at DE or trade down Who can they trade with that wants Leinhart and they can still get Mario? JETS! or Tennessee If Jets are smart...
Pepper fails the physical? DO we then chase Schaub? Will he even be there? If we get to that point, we are going to start to smell desperate to the teams we will want to deal with. I like the idea of Pepper being here, but if THIS plan falls through (like the last one did), what...
Saban did the right thing and I trust that he did. brees wanted to much money. so stop all the bickering and unite and get behind saban and our new qb!
Im very excited about the Daunte pick up. He is going to be a great addition when he recovers from his injury. However we still need a QB since its not likely Daunte will be ready for the start of the 06 season. Ferrote? McCoun? Schaub? Lemmon? Draft? our need for a back up is a...
Pioneer Press http://www.twincities.com/mld/twincities/14096504.htm Culpepper expected to be dealt to Dolphins BY SEAN JENSEN Pioneer Press
The Dolphins appear ready to release kicker Olindo Mare after he was unwilling to take a pay cut. Agent Drew Rosenhaus declined to discuss any specifics about talks with the Dolphins over Mare, but said he wasn't worried about what might happen if Mare were to be cut. ''Don't cry for Olindo...
Ok, the qb situation that has been dominating our minds is over.... what now? what moves do we need to make to compliment this move? TO? SCHAUB? Hiring Wannestedt as a fluff girl? Let me read some key opinions on who we need to go after now... I need something to drive me crazy for the next three...
Just Curious... I personally would love to see Arrington don Offerdahls old #56 (I'm sure Pope would give up his current # for the right price). 3-4 D: Arrington Crowder Thomas Hodge/Spragan
Moments after the Dolphins got Daunte Culpepper in a trade with the Vikings, free agent quarterback Drew Brees agreed to a six-year deal with the New Orleans Saints. Financial terms of the deal have not yet been disclosed. http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/5410800
http://www.titansradio.com/ Make it three free agents, the Titans signed wide receiver David Givens and agreed to terms with center Kevin Mawae Tuesday morning. ''I think David again is the prime candidate for free agency,'' General Manager Floyd Reese said. ''He's young, he's healthy, he's...
Does anybody have any AFC East standing predictions, provided we sign Brees? Mine goes: Dolphins (11-5) Patriots (10-6) Jets (8-8) Bills (3-13)
Didnt see this posted yet. Bad news for the Brees hopefuls out there. :( http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/sfl-dolnb13mar14,0,5929239.story?coll=sfla-sports-front
With the signing of another WR in Detroit (forgot who it was already), Charles Rogers is as good as gone from Detroit. Do you think Saban takes a chance on him? He knows his talent since he played at Mich St. He has laods of talent but I am just not up to date on his injury status from last...
i know there's a lot of exciting news going on with culpepper and all, but on a side note, david givens is a titan. he signed a 5 year/$24 mil contract. espn is reporting.
How about trying to get Jeff Faine from the Cleveland Browns. They don't have a need for him now that they have Bentley. I think he would really help our O-line and imagine how it would look. LT-L.J. Shelton LG-Jeno James C-Jeff Faine RG-Vernon Carey RT-Tom Ashworth
Don't get me wrong Mare is a helluva kicker, a very good kickoff guy, but Saban knows what he is doing, and doesn't think Mare is worth the money he is making. Alot of you guys don't have problems with Zach, JT, and others restructuring their contracts, well that is what they asked Mare to do....
Love boat and all that other BS aside, the reality is Daunte only had two bad games - the first two. In Minnesota's first two games, he threw eight interceptions against zero touchdowns. However, during those two games, he passed at a rate of 61% for 234.5 ypg. If he is throwing that accurately...
http://snap.stats.com/snap/pfw/nfl/playerstats.asp?id=4670&Submit=Go He definitely has to improve in the penalty area...damn! 9 Penalties? 6 sacks allowed is about the average...not that bad when using some of the elite LT's in the league as a measuring stick. O.Pace has given up 15 over the...
This could be false reporting again but I have a good feeling that today is the day Brees signs here. Last night on sports center they said that the Dolphins clamped a deadline request on Brees that was extended to Tuesday evening (tonight). This article on ESPN says that today is going to be...
Living up here and only having access to finheaven is tough. But I'm on pins and needles. In all honesty Brees or Culpepper will give us such an upgrade. Good luck fellow finfans. Just wanted to give my best.
Has anyone thought about that? I haven't seen that posted anywhere. Do you think that Saban could be setting that up. I mean Brees having Chambers/T.O./McMike/Booker/Welker/R&R could be really deadly for opposing defenses to stop. What do you think about that Dolfans?
weird that we haven't heard a word about him lately?
mod edit: you're pretty lucky i'm in a good mood - i changed your title for you http://www.finheaven.com/boardvb2/showthread.php?t=129625 Hey he must want to sign with miami couse why else would he have a physical and all that stuff what i think is he is just playing with us trying to get...
ok, so I am at work right now so I don't have time to look everything up but what's the comparison here? Maybe Drew thinks the Saints have a better receiving core??? So Chris Chambers vs. Joe Horn, Marty Booker vs. Donte Stallworth, and Wes Welker vs. Az Hakim As for TE I already know there...
With Mawae off to the titans, it seems that Ashworth is the best availible O-Line man left do you think we have a shot at him, that would be nice to have LJ Shelton at LT and Ashworth at RT then we could move Carey to gaurd where I think he is best suited. I appreciate any feedback or thoughts.
??? I jus heard on 790 The Ticket that he was in for a visit today..
From What I'm hearing on ESPN we are probably about 2 million apart on Guaranteed money saints will offer 10 mil Dolphins 8 mil.Now 2 million does not sound like alot if Bree's comes hear an as any kind of success he makes up that 2 mil just in endorsements. Why would someone want to play in New...
http://www.bengals.com/news/news.asp?story_id=5132 Joey Harrington anyone? Kidding of course.
I know this shouldn't be posted here, but i'm bored waiting for Brees. Givens signed with the Titians. 5 years 24 million and a 8 million bonus.
what do you guys think?
Does anyone know when the Vikes have make the decision to pay him the bonus or cut him?
http://www.twincities.com/mld/twincities/sports/football/14087303.htm "The Dolphins haven't committed to him yet, but Culpepper is determined to go to South Florida, perhaps intrigued by Miami's proximity to his Orlando home."
John clayton was just on Mike and Mike in the morning on espn radio. He said that if Bress goes to saints That Culpepper will be a dolphin. That at this time there are no other takers for him but the sticking point remains that the viking will not let him take a physical for the dolphins.
He really wants to play for the Dolphins, better situation, but we are not offering the contract that New Orleans is. He's just saying all that so we give him more money. I like the fact the dolphins are hold on to their offer....we are not going to overpay for this guy...If he wants to play here...
:nublar: http://www.finheaven.com/news/3099/
I have been a Mare fan and it is sad when a player refuses to take a pay cut and gets traded or released. But I understand that it is only a buisness and he has to look out for him and his family just like the Dolphins organization had to look out for themselfs. In other words I wish him the best...
I don't know too much about Brees other than he made the Pro Bowl twice. I also saw him play against the Dolphins this year and I was none too impressed. My question is this: Prior to the injury, could he throw an accurrate deep ball? Please answer this question if you actually saw him throw...
Thought some of you guys might wanna listen to what he says. Hope he doesnt go on too much about the Giants though.
The link below was forwarded to me by a fellow Fin fan. I hope the article is premature and/or flat out wrong. Hopefully a compromise can be reached. From the Orlando Sentinel: http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/football/pro/dolphins/sfl-dolnb13mar14,0,4760343.story?coll=orl-dolphins
I have been cruising the boards here for the past few days and wanted to drop in and say hello. It is funny how Drew Brees has pulled so many people from this board to Saintsreport.com and vice versa. I know most of you think Brees would be better served in Miami and of course most of the Saints...
what about terreal bierria, the ex seahawks safety? i think he played well for the seahawks in 2004, in 2005 he was realesed and i dont know why and what happens with him, he is young and could be a good fit for us, since we need a safety when schulters leaves. what did u think of this idea? ...
