mod edit: you're pretty lucky i'm in a good mood - i changed your title for you http://www.finheaven.com/boardvb2/showthread.php?t=129625 Hey he must want to sign with miami couse why else would he have a physical and all that stuff what i think is he is just playing with us trying to get...
ok, so I am at work right now so I don't have time to look everything up but what's the comparison here? Maybe Drew thinks the Saints have a better receiving core??? So Chris Chambers vs. Joe Horn, Marty Booker vs. Donte Stallworth, and Wes Welker vs. Az Hakim As for TE I already know there...
With Mawae off to the titans, it seems that Ashworth is the best availible O-Line man left do you think we have a shot at him, that would be nice to have LJ Shelton at LT and Ashworth at RT then we could move Carey to gaurd where I think he is best suited. I appreciate any feedback or thoughts.
??? I jus heard on 790 The Ticket that he was in for a visit today..
From What I'm hearing on ESPN we are probably about 2 million apart on Guaranteed money saints will offer 10 mil Dolphins 8 mil.Now 2 million does not sound like alot if Bree's comes hear an as any kind of success he makes up that 2 mil just in endorsements. Why would someone want to play in New...
http://www.bengals.com/news/news.asp?story_id=5132 Joey Harrington anyone? Kidding of course.
I know this shouldn't be posted here, but i'm bored waiting for Brees. Givens signed with the Titians. 5 years 24 million and a 8 million bonus.
what do you guys think?
Does anyone know when the Vikes have make the decision to pay him the bonus or cut him?
http://www.twincities.com/mld/twincities/sports/football/14087303.htm "The Dolphins haven't committed to him yet, but Culpepper is determined to go to South Florida, perhaps intrigued by Miami's proximity to his Orlando home."
John clayton was just on Mike and Mike in the morning on espn radio. He said that if Bress goes to saints That Culpepper will be a dolphin. That at this time there are no other takers for him but the sticking point remains that the viking will not let him take a physical for the dolphins.
He really wants to play for the Dolphins, better situation, but we are not offering the contract that New Orleans is. He's just saying all that so we give him more money. I like the fact the dolphins are hold on to their offer....we are not going to overpay for this guy...If he wants to play here...

I have been a Mare fan and it is sad when a player refuses to take a pay cut and gets traded or released. But I understand that it is only a buisness and he has to look out for him and his family just like the Dolphins organization had to look out for themselfs. In other words I wish him the best...
I don't know too much about Brees other than he made the Pro Bowl twice. I also saw him play against the Dolphins this year and I was none too impressed. My question is this: Prior to the injury, could he throw an accurrate deep ball? Please answer this question if you actually saw him throw...
Thought some of you guys might wanna listen to what he says. Hope he doesnt go on too much about the Giants though.
The link below was forwarded to me by a fellow Fin fan. I hope the article is premature and/or flat out wrong. Hopefully a compromise can be reached. From the Orlando Sentinel: http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/football/pro/dolphins/sfl-dolnb13mar14,0,4760343.story?coll=orl-dolphins
I have been cruising the boards here for the past few days and wanted to drop in and say hello. It is funny how Drew Brees has pulled so many people from this board to Saintsreport.com and vice versa. I know most of you think Brees would be better served in Miami and of course most of the Saints...
what about terreal bierria, the ex seahawks safety? i think he played well for the seahawks in 2004, in 2005 he was realesed and i dont know why and what happens with him, he is young and could be a good fit for us, since we need a safety when schulters leaves. what did u think of this idea? ...

...regarding player negotiations, draft scenarios, etc. it seems he sets his targets/goals early, but always has alternatives. then, he publicly pursues the alternatives to lessen the power that the targets and their agents have. he wants brees, but let's the world know he's ok pursuing back up...
Ok, so this really isn't about intelligence so much, but about the relative speed a new QB will learn our offense well enough to execute it smoothly. Which QB is going to pick it up and execute it quicker...Brees? Schaub? Culpepper? Anyone have a clue on their Wonderlicks and what we might...
I've been listening to one of the local sports talk shows this morning and the subject of TO being released today was being talked about. A guy called in and made an interesting comment and would like to get your take on this: Dallas may be releasing Keyshawn today due to a roster...
Dante Culpepper is a much more talented QB than Brees. He has much better arm strenghth compared to Brees. Culpepper when healthy is a top 5 QB in the league. Brees is not!!!!! ...
Just more waiting on the Brees front. It was just announced that Brees and the Miami Dolphins will start re-negociating a contract today to see if both sides can strike a deal. I'm not sure what went down last night, but it's time to either poop or get off the pot for the Phinz.... We're wasting...
http://tennessean.com/apps/pbcs.dll/articl...1/60314001/1027 Tuesday, the Titans have called an 11 a.m. news conference to announce they’ve reached an agreement with former patriots receiver David Givens. Givens, one of the top players in free agency, visited the Titans yesterday and remained...
A lot of people talk about certain QBs being good game managers. I hear that a lot about Brees and some Gusketeers also like to claim that he was a good game manager. I think that, in most cases, that is just someone's way of pumping up a guy they like on the basis of some intangible that cannot be...
Dolphins | Mare on the way out? Tue, 14 Mar 2006 05:03:51 -0800 Harvey Fialkov, of the Sun-Sentinel, reports Miami Dolphins PK Olindo Mare has asked to be released or traded after recently being told to take a substantial pay cut, according to a source. "They told him he was overpaid and not...

To tell you the truth i cant do nothing but worry. Dc Leg or Brees's Shoulder. I think alot of people on this site as well as myself are freaking out because weve gone through so many years with back up QB's that we here one of those two names and we will do anything to hear that we have a star Qb....
Dolphins | Team may visit with D. Campbell Tue, 14 Mar 2006 06:22:08 -0800 Mark Cannizzaro, of the New York Post, reports the Miami Dolphins may visit with free agent TE Dan Campbell (Cowboys).
says it's going to take our 2nd to get Daunte if we don't get Brees. Do you really want to give up our 2nd for him?
I heard he was going to but then never heard another thing about it.
Silly question, and maybe I've gotten my hopes up too high, but how soon would we find out what Drew's number will be? I figure he'll take #9 since it will be open. The reason being because as soon as the ink hits the paper I'm ordering a jersey! Lance :dolphins:
If the Titans have locked up McNair, and gave Mauck a start late last season, that tells me that Volek can be had. And for a third or fourth. And NOT break the bank. Let me repeat: NOT break the bank. In my opinion, Volek throws one of the nicest deep balls in the league, dropping it in the...
I know brees would be a step up but I think Gus had a very good year for us considering the O line is still under construction. If I were Miami, I would strongly consider drafting a QB. Gus could go one more year and someone like Cutler would be a great understudy. With the money you save in the...
Would you take our #1 pick and move down to the top of round 2, maybe with San Fran, N.O. or clev, for their #2 and their #1 next year? This would put us in a position to possibly get Quinn next year.
I was just reading a Herald peice and it mentioned two QBs who have had the shoulder surgery and I'm concerned- So, ah, we are throwing some good money at, and the future of our franchise to an injured QB who is following a crowd of injured QBs who haven't recovered?? Wow. Why are we so sure...
Dolphins | Team expected to visit with Beasley Mon, 13 Mar 2006 22:14:08 -0800 Kevin Lynch, of the San Francisco Chronicle, reports free agent FB Fred Beasley (49ers) is expected to visit the Miami Dolphins.
My opinion, and we are all entitled to one, is that we should get Culpepper if we can get him for a conditional draft pick, preferably 2007. Why? Well he knows the system and he has a cannon arm, which is perfectly suited to the deep passing game we are trying to put in. He had one bad season...
This may have been brought up already. Sorry if it was. We're not signing any other free agents right now. Do you think that Nick Saban put in extra effort to get LT Shelton quickly to help convince Drew Brees that he would be protected. That had to have been a concern for Drew Brees coming...
Im tired of this crap. The Dolphins should not give him anymore than 7 mil a year. Sure, he is proven, but he is unproven with a bum shoulder. In no way is he worried about championships or where his family lives, if that was the case he would be signed with Miami by now. Take your 10 mil, go...
I remember a few weeks ago reading in the miami herald that a verbal deal had been struck with Campbell. The only thing holding up the deal was the cba agreement had to be agreed upon do to the incentive package included in the contract. Has anyone heard any news about this?
I know alot of people on here like to bash T.O. but he would be huge for our offense. Assuming we sign Brees tomorrow..technically today...I really hope we make an effort to get Owens. I'm sure we won't offer near as much as Dallas will so it probably won't happen, but I would really like to see...
As far as I am concerned Brees is a Dolphin already. Kudos to you guys, you have a very good organization, and a good coach. You have been needing a good QB for some time now, and well I believe you have found him. So good blessings to you this year, and hope
so who is on our radar for a contract offer right now... we HAVE 1) shelton, Hodge, and Goodman we WANT 1) brees, beasley, ashworth, Adams? POSSIBLY, LaVar, Vanderjacth ((SP) personally no, atittude and missed a career setting FG), Givens ( i guess not anymore), DC, shaub? thats all? if...
Looking at the transactions through out the nfl, the Redskins are loading up again! They sure got the right man working the cap for them with all the big salaries coming in. Saban and Mueller need to start getting playmakers in here and do whatever they got to do to do it!! Yeah I know the...
In most credible mock drafts I have seen, the Dolphins are picking OT Winston Justice. Now with Shelton being out LT, and Carey obviously our RT, we don't really need to draft O-line in first round. With that said, depending on how the rest of free agency pans out, in theory the Dolphins could go...
Im like busting here to find out who our QB for this year is going to be. Im praying for miami to reach a deal with Brees. ANYONE FEEL THE SAME WAY I DO????
:nublar: Good news! http://www.finheaven.com/news/3100/
Does anybody know if OT Ashworth come in for a visit today? I heard we were to meet with him on Monday. If so, does anybody think we will sign another OT and maybe move the line one spot over, Carey to G and Hadnot to C or will we go with what we have and try to resign McKinney, which I am not a...
I was watching the 11:00 Sports Center and of course they had another story about us searching for a QB. This time they said that Miami requested a decision by Monday night. However, since Brees headed back to Alabama without further discussion on Monday, this has been extended till Tuesday....
I've read a ton of these posts by many of you so-called Dolphins :dolphins: fans (Just for the record: I'm a Dolphins fan) about 'Bree$ This' and 'Bree$ That' and 'Culpepper Sucks ' and 'Daunte is an idiot :dunce:'...Anyways... I would probably say about 75-80% of the people in here want Bree$...
IMHO the Brees signing won't be signed until... He is checked out by Doctors, he is question to see what his mental abilities for football are. Then you have to factor in his conferring with his agent after he receives the Dolphin proposal, his asking New Orleans what more they will add etc...
Not much new, but it gives us a little bit more clear look at the situation. :nublar: http://www.palmbeachpost.com/dolphins/content/sports/epaper/2006/03/14/a1c_dolphins_0314.html
while Drew heads back to Alabama? Because maybe when Drew left he said to his agent "get this deal done, I'm going to get my shoulder ready to take this team to the Super Bowl!" :D your thoughts?
Saban knows Minny is on a deadline to trade Culpepper. Is he using Brees to bring the price on Culpepper down?
Get a Qb already:tantrum: culpepper(whom i voted for us to pick) is our qb already..... For only a 2nd rounder thats wut we spent for AJ feely...who in the 2nd round is as good as Daunte plus he's a star that would attract more fans to the stadium simple business he's gonna be our QB
from kffl sorry if it's already here, things are running a bit slow tonite!(I wonder why? LOL)
I mean we never won a Super Bowl but watching his passing ability was amazing.
Vikings | Team waiting on Brees Mon, 13 Mar 2006 21:01:44 -0800 Kevin Seifert, of the Star Tribune, reports the <A href="http://www.kffl.com/team/23/nfl">Minnesota Vikings are awaiting a resolution for free agent QB Drew Brees (Chargers) before the team decides on what to do with Vikings QB...
i like this guy alot..But he isnt worth "Manning" type money. If his shoulder wasnt injured, i would say he was worth it. But i think Drew Brees is insane to think that his injured shoulder is worth 10 million dollars. I think the dolphins still get him but hopefully less than 10 million... I also...
thought i would read up on everything possible-may be changing from a Bills fan to Dolphin fan
http://www.kffl.com/hotw/nfl Vikings | Team has more time to deal with Culpepper Mon, 13 Mar 2006 19:37:30 -0800 Adam Schefter, of the <A href="http://www.kffl.com/team/77/nfl">NFL Network, reports the Minnesota Vikings are still convinced a trade will be completed shortly involving QB Daunte...
Just wanted to get some opinion's on how signing a big name QB whether its Brees, Culpepper or a top rookie would affect our ticket sales. would we finally be able to fill the stands or will it take more than just a qb to sell-out the stadium
I was posting before about Sabans "patient" Philosophy...I see us signing second tier guys as we have at decent salaries..Other teams are busting the bank and saban lays back..I like this way of dealing in free agency..If we were to jump on every guy they said we were gonna get then there would be...
Is anyone feeling like me at this point....Saturday I understand, its the first day, we need to see whats out there and when to talk, but I mean after that, its been frustrating. Sunday was the day we shoul dhave a new QB, they said it on ESPN, they have it on papers in Miami, its the day we make...
Clayton reports that the Dolphins and Drew Brees will resume talks tommorow. Brees is indeed leaving Miami, but he is going back to Birmingham to rehab. He is not going to New Orleans to sign a deal like some others are saying. In fact, Clayton goes on to say that there were no negotiations today...
Drew Brees as opposed to Daunte Culpepper. Sure, there have been 1 million threads on this topic, and this is just another one. However, I ask you to take into account this. Drew Brees - wants 10 million a year. IMO, not worth it. Given his injury to his THROWING ARM, makes it scary to invest...
Saban WILL NOT do any deals for a guy who won't allow a medical exam and wants too much $$$ and costs too much in draft picks. Are you people serious? Plan "B" would be go after Ramsey or McCown, plus draft a guy. Although it's not gonna come to that. Unless... one of those guys wants backup...
I know awhile back there was talk about restructuring there contracts to make them more cap friendly. I haven't heard anymore about it, has the new cba changed that talk or do you think it could still happend? The reason why I ask is because when we get a QB either Brees or Culpepper both are going...
This is NOT the behavior of a guy that is "posturing", or "trying to pull one over on us". He spent ALL day doing medical exams at HIS permission, that he didn't do for the aint so-called "brain"trust. He and his wife had dinner with Saban and Mueller tonight. Some "stonewall" or "impasse",...
For all the DC fans that want Dante in Miami.... I hope you guys know that if we sign DC he won't play until 2007:shakeno: . His knee is f...d up. This means Gus will start again next year and keep the spot warm for Dante. Just don't see that happening! At least Brees should be able to play...
He is an NFL insider and was on WWL 870 radio in New Orleans, he said N.O. is offering 10 mill a year and Miami is offering 7. They are talking to try to close the gap, if they can't Miami moves on and Brees is a Saint. If the 'Phins move up a couple mill they get him. He is very well connected...
Since the begining of "Brees" talk, I have been a HUGE supporter! But I think I've had a change of heart... Brees's slight holdout for the $10mil, may be a blessing in disguise. First of all, he's not worth $10 mil, especially since we really haven't seen what he can do with a bum shoulder....
Guys I know it's frustrating with the QB situation. Alot of you have been posting your frustration and I feel that way too. On 1 hand we have Drew Brees who is a probowler and we have seen what he can do when he is on his game.On the other hand we have Daunte Culpepper who not too long ago was...
Sorry if it's been posted already: http://insider.espn.go.com/espn/blog/index?name=clayton_john&action=login&appRedirect=http%3a%2f%2finsider.espn.go.com%2fespn%2fblog%2findex%3fname%3dclayton_john Brees-Dolphins talks put off 'til Tuesday: The Dolphins and quarterback Drew Brees are...
Dolphins | Team still in the running for Adams Mon, 13 Mar 2006 18:43:17 -0800 ESPN.com's John Clayton reports free agent DT Sam Adams (Bills) has narrowed his choice of teams to the Miami Dolphins and Cincinnati Bengals.
Here is the bottom line on the Brees Culpepper front: 1) Drew Brees will be a Dolphin. Why else would he take a physical for the team and not only take one test but take multiple test to prove how healthy he is? My best guess is Saban told him if he passes they will match NO offer. Brees wants...
Vikings | Team has more time to deal with Culpepper Mon, 13 Mar 2006 19:37:30 -0800 Adam Schefter, of the NFL Network, reports the Minnesota Vikings are still convinced a trade will be completed shortly involving QB Daunte Culpepper. The team has been given some additional time to work out a...
Brees has left Miami and does not have a deal with the Dolphins. Stated that Brees agent has been in back in touch with the Saints. Don't shoot the messenger
I think Culpepper will be a fin Tomorrow.Saban did a good job by sticking to his guns.NO is getting robbed for 10million a year.Be honest .Brees aint worth that price.thoughts
Has anyone heard anything about Tom Ashworth visiting the Phins today???
per John Clayton: "Brees-Dolphins talks put off till Tuesday: The Dolphins and quarterback Drew Brees are expected to resume negotiations Tuesday. Brees left Miami on Monday evening for Birmingham, Ala., where he's rehabbing his right shoulder under the watchful eye of Dr. James Andrews, who...
The dolphins are still talking to him. They say he wants 10 mill a year. they will keep talking tonight and if nothing is reached they might pursue culpepper tommorow. John Clayton
I dont know how credible this information is since it is posted on a ESPN website but look at this. "i personally prefer Daunte, but i have a friend that goes to Nova, and he saw tons of cameras around the facility, he asked one of them, what was going on, and he said that their waiting for drew...
Clayton reports the Dolphins told Brees they want the answer tonight or they will Trade for Culpeper. This is not a hoax:dolphins:
the fact that Brees and his agent are using New Orleans as leverage on the Dolphins. His agent went out and found a team that would pay more than the Dolphins wanted to pay Brees even though it would be possible that Brees had no interest in New Orleans except for the sole reason of getting more...
Saban should hand Brees and his agent a first class ticket to New Orleans these guys know this will be Brees' last chance at a big payday. a short slow QB with a bumb shoulder these gyis are trying to get as much as they can out of the fins and stiff them with the bill. getting this guy...
Don't flame me, just passing on what I hear: I work for a major news organization and the folks in the newsroom say Brees is signed. Just shouted to me.
Okay Drew Brees comes from San Diego where he has arguably the best two weapons in the NFL in Gates and Tomlinosn, so is he a guy that can lead us to victory. Lets face it Mcmike isnt too good and Brown is too young, to carry a oad liek LDT. In 2004 and 2005 he had good stat seasons but to me...
Saints | Team to visit with McCown Tuesday Mon, 13 Mar 2006 18:27:24 -0800 NewOrleansSaints.com reports free agent QB Josh McCown (Cardinals) will visit with the New Orleans Saints Tuesday, March 14. take it for what its worth but i think it shows the saints are not confident that brees will...
