Mare is a keeper, he's got plenty of years left in him.

Finding a reliable NFL kicker isn't an easy thing to do (ask the Dallas Cowboys

I'd atleast try to get him to take a cut but I'm all for keeping him.

I think we should stick with Olindo Mare for one more year and then try to draft the guy who I think is the best kicker in college: Mason Crosby of Colorado. Crosby can boom them from 60+ yards out, and not just at high altitude. He may have the strongest kicking leg around, including guys from the NFL. I think he could even be taken in the 1st riound in 2007. I would use a 2nd round pick on him if I was picking.

I have seen Mare make a 72 yarder in warmups with my own two eyes. Most NFL Kickers can make 65 yarders with their kickoff leg. It's like golf, I can hit my pitching wedge 150 but I have to nuke it and I lose accuracy, so I only hit it about 130.

    He needs to restructure

Regardless of how far and accurate he can kick he needs to restructure or hit the road..2.1 million cap hit for him is quite a bit.

While we are on the topic we need quite a few others to restructure
    James at 3.4 million...ouch.

Zach and JT could also restucture to help the cause

I'M SURE WE COULD SAVE MORE
and I would love to hear other views and ideas regarding who
should also restructure and who should be on the outside looking in.

Thanks and I am looking forward to hearing from everyone else.

    Thanks,
    MiamiRon
