Girl, 14, quizzed over MySpace anti-Bush page

A US girl of 14 was dragged out of class by Secret Service agents for calling President Bush an idiot on her MySpace page.
Julia Wilson's internet page, called "So Bush is an idiot but hey what else is new?", infuriated security experts, reports the Mirror.
She also posted the words "Kill Bush" and ran a cartoon of a knife stabbing the hand of the president.
Two federal agents went searching for Julia at her home before finding the teenager at school in Sacramento, California.
After pulling her out of class, they subjected her to a 20-minute interview.
Julia said: "I told them I just really don't agree with Bush's politics. I do not have any plans of harming Bush in any way. I am very peaceful. I just don't like Bush."
She said the agents warned her she could be locked up for making the threat.
Dad Jim Moose added: "I don't condone what she did, but it seems a little over the top. You'd think they could determine that she's not a credible threat."

It wasn't the issue of calling Bush an idiot that got her questioned. If that was the case, a bucketload of people here would have already had visits from the Secret Service.

Any threat to the President's life is investigated by the Secret Service. The fact that she is 14 is irrelevent, IMO.

Yes, if you post a web page that says "Kill Bush" you might well be questioned by the Secret Service.

This should not be a big surprise to anyone..

I can only summize the father's attitude based on what has been provided, but it doesn't appear he was irrate of the actions of the Secret Service. I can only assume they conducted a civil interview with her, gave her a warning and let it go at that.

Like it or not, there is a federal law on the books that makes it a crime to threaten the President of the United States...which is NOT taken lightly.

The article is misleading IMO making it sound like she only got in trouble for calling Bush an idiot and that is what infuriated security.

awesome, looks like The State was right all along.

Soon it will be a federal offense to say you want to harm the president even in jest. Hail Bush!

That's true, the article is a bit misleading, but that's not why she was interviewed by the Secret Service...it was the threatening language towards the president that drew their attention.
