doesn't matter...Dolphins don't seem to know removed about how to manage (or 'massage') the cap properly...too many 'fat' players on this team are being paid way too much money...as in, Pro Bowl money for non-pro Bowl play...with that warped sensibility reigning supreme (see: GM not allowed to be a GM), get used to the Dolphins being a perennial 'bottom-feeder' in FA for a long LONG time...a team, not a winning team, just a team...and likely, a team that may be on the 'move' within 4-6 more years of non-playoff mediocrity...by then, Miamians won't miss 'em, and won't care (maybe that's the plan?)

This sort of development is a bit of neutral development. I don't see how it helps or hurts any one franchise, given the profit sharing plan.
If anything it hurts the players, because the cap is successively each year out-stripping player salaries. Not enough agents take cap inflation into enough account when negotiating long term deals with players.
Each year more and more teams are very comfortably underneath the cap. Why? Two reasons. Better cap management on their part (probably a reduction of average 'dead weight' money), but also because the cap is increasing faster than players can demand appropriate increases in salary, under the free agent system.

(P.S., about 10-12yrs ago...the Dolphins to LA rumours were frontpage and fierce out here...it was about the same time Wayne H. took over the waste diposal biz in Cali...)

money talks, in this league just like all the others...and this being the #2 market in the US...the "LA Dolphins" would be a HUGE draw (name franchise, built-in recognition, built-in marketing prospect, MAJOR SoCal fan base...oh yeah, it could happen..)

No football team is a big draw out there in L.A. They had the Chargers (way back) they let them go. They had the Rams.....gone. They even had probably one of the best marketing prospects (as well as built in recognition) AND native Cali franchise, the Raiders, and they even let them go. Face it, you have a major commute anywhere you go in and around L.A. and the only football that the fanbase is willing to travel and fully support is college....not pro. In my personal opinion, ANY other city in the US deserves a shot at a franchise before L.A. gets another team.
