I think a lot of his troubles may have been just the fact that we had no interior line presence whatsoever.

Looks like the basketball team has been putting in some serious work in my absence. Larranaga is a beast.

Supposedly Golden gave him an ultimatum to commit or theyd move in a different direction because we were tight on schollys. Thats about all I know from reading TMB.

Chickillo is a marginal athlete. I wasn't surprised. His dad went to high school with me and it was the same thing. He was a massive kid for that age but not particularly talented.

There's plenty of discussion on Canes boards toward Chickillo's ideal weight. Some posters think he should retreat to his freshman weight of 245-250, for quickness purposes at defensive end. He looked sluggish last season at 260-265. Golden said recently that Chickillo is up to 270.

I think he could play inside on obvious passing downs.

We need Porter to stay healthy, and somebody to surprise.

I was impressed that Golden didn't try to deflect the poor recruiting record at defensive tackle. Instead of hyping this guy and that guy, among the marginal prospects already on the roster, he called it a total fail.
