Merged x4: McCown Trade to Carolina for 7th rd pick

Anybody remember the show "Married With Children"? I dont know why but when I read McCown was traded I could vividly hear Marcy Darcy chicken at large laughing her high pitched cackle at Al Bundy.

I figured Beck would go, but Parcells must see something in him worth keeping.

Probably the fact that his "horrible" off season was way, way, WAY overblown.

Just woke up from a nap and saw the news. Getting ready to shower and head out for the evening, but figured I should make a quick appearance to eat a slight bit of crow. Congrats to John Beck for sticking around. Hopefully this opportunity will give him the chance to improve and hopefully he does just that and hangs around to turn into a decent QB for us. Congrats to Beck and I was wrong about him not sticking in favor of McCown. Be back late time tonight to eat just a little more. Havent read the thread yet. As it stands now....Beck still blows. But, since he is still a phin and will be for the season, here's to hoping he turns into a quality player for us.

McCown was my favorite Miami Qb. Hate to see him go.I think his experience would have been valuable if Pennington got hurt. He was on some rough teams, Carolina will be a good fit for him if he gets a chance.

The Dolphins are awash in salary cap room so the $2.5 million bonus, while highly unfortunate, can be chalked up. Had Pennington become available much sooner, we wouldn't have to eat that bonus.

I knew as I went back to read this thread there would be at least one person who said something of this sort. Surprised to find that the first person to do it is CK. CK was one of the guys who did have a good call all along though, saying the QB to be shipped would indeed be McClown. I started getting this feeling myself when I saw Matt Moore on a stretcher while watching highlights last night.

Again Congrats to John Beck for sticking(as clipboard holder none the less, which I in fact called in late January). But, he is still here and has yet another opportunity to impress. As long as he dosent appear in any real games, Im fine with him being here for now. Hopefully, he gets better and I wont mind seeing him play. LETS GO BECK!!!!!!!!

good luck mccown. he really got a bad deal here in miami. hope he gets a shot in carolina. as for beck we really need to get him out of here. miami just isnt the right spot for him. we need to pick up another veteran qb for a small price.

Yea, I guess Im getting ahead of myself. Must be because I just woke up. Havent even stopped to consider we could still deal Beck and get someone else, which IMHO is the correct move.

I liked Mccown better then Beck but wow, that's awesome. Hope its a decent pick.

I actually expect the Dolphins to trade Beck and pick up a QB off of waivers.

I believe we are going to get a Jets QB. They have Favre, Clemons, Ratliff and Ainge. Ainge was highly reguarded in the draft but Ratliff has outplayed Ainge because he knew the system. How nice woud it be to trade Beck and get another QB.

I have the feeling that they trade Beck but the pick up will not be any less experienced than say.................Chris Simms. When Tampa releases him don't be surprised to see the Trifecta snap him up and make him #2 behing Penne. That gives Henne time to learn and work with Simms on the sideline while Pennington is on the field. Not a bad scenario
