I think the jets will get like a 10-14 point spread, and i think Miami will easily cover that. I havnt made the bet yet, or done the research, im waiting a bit to see if any injurys pop up
Have you ever put money on an NFL game?? There hasn't been a 14 pt home dog in since Noah was loading the ark. Add to that how much the odds makers give to our early sept heat advantage and I would be surprised if we are more that a 4 pt dog. To be honest, and I do a lot of online wagering I would put the line around +3.5. I guess we will see come Monday morning.
No freaking way we are a double diget dog at home on opening week. I would wager the house if we were.

They do have a very good football team on paper. They're basically placing all of their chips in the center of the table with Favre, and hoping they have a strong enough hand when all is done....

Man...... I'm gonna skip right to the end here after reading just a few posts! We are gonna kick the Jets arse big time! especially with Favre! I'd be real surprised he makes it out of Miami in one piece. This "D" is gonna have their full of ESPN and NFL network and other fans dissrespect and Favre is gonna feel the brunt of this boiling and searing and still growing anger. Remember the majority of these players had nothing to do with the 1-15 season. The crowd and the opening day national (well at least 40% of the country) spotlight will feed this frenzy. My prediction is 21-0 Miami. And for the record I think it's pathetic for a true-fan to be voicing any doubt what-so-ever in our ability to win week in and week out. Would Patton have voiced such as Nancy-like prediction..... when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor........oh well you get the idea.

Write it down 21-0!!! MIAMI WINS

What the hell kind of "fan" says that their favorate team has no chance of beating their hated rival? I'd rather choke on my own blood than say that.

This is that "culture of losing" that BP and co are trying so hard to rid this proud franchise of. Maybe you should leave too.

I think we are exactly even at this point my friend. And come next Sunday we will be 21 pts. better! Remember also they are a 4 win team from last year. Have they made that dramatic improvement with an aged QB in a new offense. I.m guessing 3 picks from the geezer is in order and a direct impact to our win.. You can write that down as well..... GO PHINS!!

Get off his back. He's being realistic. I want us to win, but I guarantee we are underdogs on the Vegas line. We all have our optimism and our team spirit but the names on the other team look a hell of a lot better. Our best qb, just got cut by them.

Just like the movie title, "Any given Sunday", anyone can win. Since we are playing in Miami with the heat i would almost give it a toss up.

I just want to see a positive step forward.

Ricky is going to explode. The only reason he will slow down
(just slightly) during his run is to give Vernon Gholston a nice vicious stiff arm. Welcome to the NFL pal!!

Positive steps start with the burning in the bosom to make a direct and immediate impact....... Any Given Sunday qualified with a "I just want a positive step forward" demeanor still amounts to a complacent attitude. Refuse to accept defeat!! No rationalization involved! Refuse it., don't allow it's losing head to surface disguised as "rationization" or "reality". The reality is it's a new season, a new day and it is ours to seize and own! Never say die!!!

I want to tell you guys something.

The 1950 Soccer World Cup Story:

The tournament had come to the finals. It was Uruguay-Brazil.

The tournament was being played in Brazil and they were clear favorites.
If Brazil won or tied, they were World Champions. The only way Uruguay could win, was if Uruguay won.

All the press was saying Brazil was going to win this, and not even Uruguay thought they could, even going to a point where the entire coaching staff left the country the day BEFORE the game, they thought the team had no chance.

Brazil was playing with undershirts saying Brazil Campeon do Mundo(Brazil WORLD CHAMPIONS)

They scored the first goal. The only way Uruguay could win now is by scoring two more goals than Brazil in the 2nd half.

Guess what, they did. The whole stadium was as quiet as ever, and some fans went to the point where they committed suicide. I dont want Jets fans to commit suicide literally, but I wouldnt mind them coming close.

So lets do the same thing.

    Lets prove everyone wrong.

Lets go Fins! Vamo Uruguay Noma!

FINOMINAL is a jewel in the rough
Favre will retire after week one. We will come out and beat the 4-12 jets. We were a much better team last year than history will ever remember. We lost our starting players last year, guys were out of position, and the coaching- remember special teams? Both teams are rebuilding after bad seasons. The jets went out and spent a ton of money. When those guys gel, they will be better than last year. Then they will be old and broke. We went out and really drafted well and upgraded our team. We cut the dead wood and upgraded the organization. When our players gel, we will be better for years. We will beat the jets for years.

yes, why cant we.... if we go out and play great team defense, put some solid drives on and hit the endzone at times... why couldn't we. its not always about who is on the rosters.... still gotta play the game. gotta score more points than the opponent
