    It's shortened to that in text message, and it carried over onto the internet. Which makes no sense to me. In text messages, you have limited characters, and it takes longer to type, so it makes sense. On a PC, its a few extra key strokes, taking less than a second. Why not just make yourself look smart and type the whole word? It might just be the English Nazi in me...
