So I was IP banned (again) with no explanation and no knowledge of doing anything wrong other than a few pessimistic posts (which I'm pretty sure isn't against the rules.) Just curious what the heck is going on?

There have been alot of SPAM posters on the site recently (selling stuff in Russian, other nonsense, etc.) and we've been IP banning them.
There's a chance that you got IP banned by accident because your IP may have been similar.
Sorry for the inconvenience, but we aren't out to get you or anything.

Anyway, I can see that Cedar has already made an adjustment, we were trying to be real aggressive with the ip ban settings, we've loosened them up a tad. you should be good on your ips now.

Like Bill said, AOL recycles IPs, so it is possible if you have AOL, that it just happened to match.

I don't AOL, but I'm glad this was a mistake I thought I was being HOSED. Anyways thanks for clearing it up.
you shared a similar ip to a spammer I won't go into detail, but the ban I attempted on the spammer took you out also. Anyway it seems to be fixed.Originally Posted by SlimShady
