MAdden Classic Teams question...

What the heck happened to the classic teams in Madden 2004?

In 2003 the teams had no names being used (probably legal issues where EA Sports probably didnt want to pay retired players for name rights) but the corresponding numbers were still there.... (ex. you knew that on the 1972-73 Miami Dolphins that #12 was Bob Griese and #39 was Larry Csonka)

However when I play 2004 the players have the right attributes I would assume, but you would have no idea who they were, as they have a random number.....

I guess the alum thought their rights were still being used by having Madden NFL 2004 use their famous #s....

Anyone know the reasoning behind this or did I just about cover it?

I have no idea, but I played with the "All Dolphins" team last week, and the numbers they have for the players do not match the great Dolphins. For example, the QB was not #13 but something else. I don't know why they would do something like that but you are right, it must be legal reasons, because there could be no other reason for doing something like that.

I know some have posted a link before, but does someone know where to get the names w/ corresponding numbers for some of the classic teams????
