Our players need to shut up right now.

Off the top of my head:

What are we gaining from this? I understand our players have confidence, and I understand everyone is excited that Ireland went all-in, but there is something to be said for staying humble. This is a team that hasn't had a winning record in 5 years. The offense has been very below average all of those years. There is significant advantage to flying under the radar and being sneaky good. If you sit here, all offseason, with one player saying how great the team is going to be, you are not humble and you are getting the wrong kind of attention. Pouncey sitting up there, talking about how we are targetting the Patriots in a David vs. Goliath showdown. Once again, by all means we SHOULD be targeting the Patriots. BUT SHUT UP ABOUT IT. We, just like the Jets previous years, have not earned the right to say a word. The Patriots have ruled this division for a very long time and that can only change on the field, not by talking about it.

Sneak up on the giant and cut it's achilles tendon after the match has begun instead of throwing rocks at it while it is sleeping.
"Coach Sparano assured us at the beginning of the week, they win the turnover battle, they win the game," guard Richie Incognito said. "And we went out there, turned the ball over."

No they dont. You want us to hide in a dark room and hope the big bad patriots dont notice us ?

Its not like they themselves are calling press conferences to announce how awesome they are. They are being asked straight out and answering positively. I think there is some SERIOUS overreaction going on here.

Enjoy being Jets South then. Ask Rex Ryan how far talking gets you.

oh whatever, overreact all you like. Our players being confident to the media does no harm no matter how much you fret.

The Jets show off to the media, our players awnsered a damn question.

Go hide in your basement if you want, personally I feel damn good about where the Dolphins are going. We have lived in the shadow of NE and in fear of their coach for far too long.

Hartline and Pouncey are now two of the leaders of this team, Joe Philbin has worked hard to install a winning, confident attitude and now the players are showing it. Confidence and arrogance are two different things.

Yeah.... the exact scenario the Jets justified their **** talking in you mean? "Well we didn't call this press conference, we just ran with the questions this guy asked us"

That's completely different. Ryan is blowhard jackass who guaranteed the Super Bowl (twice) while pimping out his wife's toes for sucking and ****ing. Pouncey said he expects to be great and expects to be in the playoffs. Big ****ing deal. Hartline expects to have a great passing attack. "OMG the temerity of that skinny white man!"

    Lighten up Francis.

The players are being asked, LEADING questions and they are answering them like any normal player who isn't coached by Bill Billicheck would answer...

Hartline didn't make any statements, the clown on the NFL channel ASKED him, 'so do you think you have the best receiving core in the AFC East'....
    and he answered...

lol, this thread is a joke. No matter if every single player and coach predicted a super bowl victory this year, or if they all shut their mouths and never talk to the media all season, they are going to play the same either way. so who really gives a flying ****? The dolphins have always been fairly quiet compared to other nfl teams, in the offseason. they are finally happy about the direction they are going. Fact of the matter is, no one is guaranteeing anything. Just believing they will be good. Which every team in the NFL probably believes they are going to be good.

Do you expect them to say "We are gonna suck this year, I'm not even sure why we should suit up."

I read nothing in the articles that I'd consider bragging, in fact, both of them refer to having the pieces but needing to make them fit. They identify the Patriots as the team to beat, and didn't just dismiss them as being a bump in the road.

Rex Ryan and the Jets were out there guaranteeing superbowls and acting like their **** didn't stink.

There is nothing wrong with what they said.
